noob here....how do i get the new bootloader needed for tis rom?

Had this update a couple of days and was initially having great battery life and everything was running very quickly. Didn't use the phone that much for a day or two as it was serving as an internet connection for my laptop to download torrents (get around the filter I have on my internet). It got a bit warm at times but nothing too serious (i think). Today the battery went from 100% to 30ish% between 8am and 11am. After taking out the battery and putting it back in it read as 49% which quickly went down from there (then i charged it). Also i've noticed that I can't get more then 14.5mb of ram free even after the hibernation and what not.

As these symptoms seem consistent with an improper flash, i'm going to flash it twice tonight and see how that works, hopefully fixing the issue. The only thing that bugs me is why it was working great at first and not any more. This time i'll keep a careful record of the things I install (not really that much) and the change in ram usage.

Delete the partnership with the pc in active sync or windows mobile device center.. and create a new one ny connecting the phone to the pc again. Activesync will create a new partnership... Had this issue before and that resolved it... THanks button! Let us know how that works out for you~!

some people get this....my testers didn't but i myself had it on vista with original 420 rom...What are you running? xp or vista?

i use vista.what i did was unchecked the advance connection setting under settings usb connection...should take care of it...if not if its windows device center let me know i have some processes you may have to delete to rectify it...i found them just google active sync connection issues...Microsoft has step by step processes to fix it..its pc end..

i'm running windows xp, but just upgraded my office to 2007 which is why i'm having problems with window onenote too. I'll try the unchecking the advanced stuff and see what happens. thanks.

So i was having the issue with battery usage earlier and memory usage, figured out why my memory usage was low, i had changed the mem usage in the advanced controls (what is the default for file system cache??) That fixed my memory usage, it gets about 20MB from soft reset, and 19.something after i close all programs and run oxios hibernate.

Flashed it a couple times to see if I could fix the battery usage, and used swcked backup to restore all my settings but I still have the same issue, about a 2 hour battery life and the phone heats up just doing nothing but being in its holster.

I think the issue must be some setting I changed since the first day i was using this (before i set it up) it ran cool all the time and got great battery usage. Anyone have any idea what would cause this? Otherwise i'll have to go in and individually install everything to see what causes it.

I may have changed some settings but for the life of me I cannot remember what.

Beam is off, power mangement is on (that i know of) and i kill all the programs (just let it sit, still gets terrible battery life)

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Otherwise i'll probably flash it tonight and just not install anything to see if that fixes the battery issue...then i'll know its a setting.

bro thats the reason right there your jsut restoring the problem that you were having.

It would be nice to figure out exactly whats causing the issue so that i might avoid doing it again (even if i don't restore from backup, or make a selective backup)

I noticed turning off the performance (dynamic cpu) option made the battery life much better (just seemed to stick at 34) as well as cool to the touch. After turning it back on it dropped down to 21% in a few minutes.

I'm thinking i have something installed or some registry setting which is causing the phone to use the cpu all the time thus wasting battery and heating up the phone. Not sure what would do this though.

I dunno myself. Been reading this thread and wondering what the problwm is. I never had this problem. I would hard reset, run the unlocker flash to sprint origianl 3.35 ROM and see how it runs then.! If it runs good, reflash to KAOS ROM. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FOLLOWED THE CORRECT STEPS ON FLASHING ROMS AND THIS ROMS INSTRUCTIONS!

yo i still got "take 1" rom.

idk wats the deal wit it but its been acting funny as hell lately. like ill start to text and it will take like 10 mins to show up on screen. or the letters would enter on the screen but wont show but when u press send they show in the sent message of the threaded text.

than 2 stuff freezes alot i thought it was suppose to not freeze alot all i would have open is like either just texting or just internet or both at same time and it freeze. i have done like 10 soft reset since this morning lol.

just everything been messing up. than after i turn it off and on it shows old text and no recent ones.

like i said its been acting up really bad lately for some reason. really dont feel like redoing all this stuff again having to upload it again and having to call sprint to reactivate it and etc.

Well, reflashed it and the battery life seems better...but not nearly what it seemed to be right after i first installed take 2. By my calculations it will get like 6-9hrs now.

I'm beginning to think i just messed up my battery when i had the incorrect settings and my phone was warm all the time.

look in my signature there is a step by step process...... the video on doing this would be an hour long waiting for the whole process and all and would take many videos for different flashing methods.

hey Kaos.. just flashed this rom.. that usual removing the battery thing happens a lot on the mogul. but anyways why is the system's font so small ? i went to settings > systems > Screen > text size but that doesn't changes the main OS fonts to the normal size.. maybe its a registry hack you have?

Check the advance settings option... I think you can change it there.

Have not flashed yet but plan on it. Just one question. I have had 3 dif roms on my divice but have never had to manually repair anything. How do i manually repair the partition table. Maybe i am missing something in this thread but i think i have looked through it well enough.

Its actually the font smoothing that you want (probably, as it looks way better)
Go to quickmenu (or start menu) programs>advanced configuration>menu>ClearType settings and then slide the bar over one to smooth everything out (make it look normal) or keep sliding if it so pleases you.

Actually guys is not ClearType settings thats for sure, nor the TextSize in the screen settings either.. It has to do more with nueRom's i've noticed no2chem roms like to come with a default system smaller fonts.. I changed the Text Size (moved the slider to the right) but it changes the size of the fonts of for example text messages I wanna type. But not the start menu, program and OS/Systems fonts in general..

ok i jumped ship to the new rom that kaos made but lol wat happen here. . .why when i drag my finger to try to get the flo cube windows media popped up? than i tried to install the cab for the cube and soft reset lol and when phone started up it said sorry the cube is already running lol. ok kaos what did you do to the cube function and how can i fix it back to the old cube. only question i have came across about the new rom so far. pretty nice seems alot like the one so far.

hey i have downloaded the nbh, unlocked the phone using hardspl, i downloaded kaos build 420 take 2. so now when do i do the bootloader (how do i do it what are the combination keys). oh and also i am curious where are the apps that i download stored on the pc. is it automatically on activesync, RUU or the C drive program files. because i am confused on how i drag the apps and programs to my phone. i saw something about .cab, .rar or something like that. i downloaded rar from winrar.com to my computer.
