Trust me...I may be able to read that now and understand it 70% after I bricked 1 phone, but before there was no way.

Noob guide should explain what a ROM is in the first place and what unlocking is and where to get the unlocker...i dont know...just my opinion

Regardless tho its not like this is a paid service so all the help is appreciated. I just feel stupid when someone says go check this out or that out like I haven't been there already.

Actually I remember yesterday at one point I used the GetSpc program for sprints to get the MSL # which was 6 digits...but i dont know if that was sprint specific...i ran it on my phone
lets say I have that number...what do i do with it?

lol but that was for my other phone so that wont work...I remember even on the other phone I was entering ## six digits # and it was just dialing out...nothing special was happening

im not sure it prolly isnt print specific but you have to get to a screeen that says exit / view/ modify and click on modify than enter that password that they give to you.

Ok, I just redid the flash and I'm getting the same error. I'm going to hookup to another computer and see if its just the mobile center creating the problem.

Also, before I did the original flash I used SKtools to do a full system backup. Can I restore my phone with this backup or will it not be compatable with this rom release?

this si what i have been telling you to find out from customer service.... i dont know the verizon numbers since i am through sprint which is ##778# and i know that it is different for verizon.

no you cannot at any time do a restore after you flash to a new rom it will cause mad crazy conflicts.

Well on my phone if i enter ##778 i get to the EPST settings...usually i enter six 0's and when I tried the msl number it just says invalid password.


The verizon techs will not give me that info...tried 3 times already

right zeros wont work as i have said bro please listen to me and they HAVE to give it to you by law or they are violating the contract terms and you can terminate the contract without early termination fees.

Zeros work to get into the EPST settings...I just click edit and enter 000000 and boom im in.

I entered the MSL code there that I got from GETSPC...it does not work..gives an error...the only code that works there is 000000

please be ore specific.... what isnt working on it????? and if your city isnt there search for weather fix* and download the cab files and that will give you what you are looking for.

Sorry I wasnt more clear. Yes, my city is missing from the list. I did the whole process to edit the xml file and add my city but its just not working. I did this same edit and it worked just fine before my rom update. But now I just cant get it to work. I did a search for the weather fix but am not coming up with a solution for this problem. Any suggestions?

Oh FYI I did install the HTC Home - Schen 2.1 with N2A Weatherpatch (UPX Compressed).cab but it made no difference.

The HHC that comes with this rom wasnt cooperating with the weather mod. So what I did was reinstall with the HHCv08b.cab then install HTC Home - Schen 2.1 with N2A Weatherpatch (UPX Compressed) then reboot. At that point I can go in and add the custom city. Before I installed the new HHCv08b adding a custom city wouldnt work. But, the biggest thing to remember (which I didnt) is to disable the HTC Home plugin from the today screen till your done installing and adding the custom city.

I'll tell you what, after spending the entire night yesterday and most of today toying with the activesync and weather issue I was just about to give up totally. I tried 4 different rom's and they all seemed to be pretty buggy. One thing that bothered me with this particular rom was that the dialer kept popping up EVERYTIME I DID SOMETHING! Also there were more apps embedded in the rom image that I really didnt need or like. I also had issues with the Mustan-Mega rom. I had really buggy keyboards so that was out really fast lol.

Its got all the default apps that I needed except a few things that I've added. I was also able to restore my PIM with SKTools so I am good to go now.

Edit: I installed the V3 Rom last night and right away I noticed it didnt have the few bugs that I initially didnt like. The keyboards ran very smooth. He's even included the new diamond keyboard:) I also noticed that he included skyfire but, a registered email and password are required.
