well is it an exe file or a cab? an exe file has to be ran on the computer and a cab file has to be ran on the phone......

My 15-day trial of Swcked Mobile Shell just ended. Now my left soft button says "Close" and the right soft button says "Register". The rest of the screen is unresponsive.

By the way, the .cab wouldn't install on my Touch, so I had to use the .exe file from their site.

Have you considered trying a more user friendly file sharing site that doesn't use the ridiculous cat approach? I did a search on Google and came up with the following free websites:

Well, in any case, there are tons of other free sites that would be far more accessible. What do you think?

yeah but they are also stricter on their standards ansd we have mirrors for a reason so those can be used also...... .

ummm you need to run the exe keygen and input the serial........ why else would it end lmao come on now.

first post it is an exe file in the folder that you donwload from megaupload will also attach give me a sec.

Ok so when I download this I paste it on the htc and put it in to megaupload file and then does it give the serial number? I haven't tried it yet but I just want to make sure I do it right when I get a chance to complete this.

are you ok dude... download the file. take the cab drag to device install and than run keygen on computer and add the key to the registration.

well that's what i did and this is why i asked that question. The exact error I get is Swcked.Mobile.Shell is not a valid Pocket PC application. My Swcked has already expired so would that be why it not allowing anything to configure correctly? I ran keygen on the comp but it ask me to imput the serial, as in it wants me to type it in. If that is correct there was no information on what to type. If this doesn't make sense let me know and when I try after work hopefully it will run smoother....

dude you cant run the cab on your pc run the exe keygen on there.

omg dude you making this harder than it needs to be.....

1. downlaod the keygen.exe from the first post through rapidshare
2. run on computer
3. take code and add to the registration area
4. DONE.|

it does install no problems dude many people including i have or still use it!!!!! its a cab file read the noob guide to learn how to insdtall cabs.

I'm still using both Mobile Shell 2.1 and Pocket Plus 4.0.1 that I downloaded from the company website. I guess my trial period hasn't expired yet because everything still works. Eventually, however, I'll be installing the hacked version on this thread because I still can't justify spending $29+ on two products that still don't fully satisfy me. Could you add a link to the first page of this thread that offers the Keygen application through MegaUpload? Most of users can't make heads or tails out of those stupid cats employed by Rapidshare.

Also, in case you're wondering what I don't like about Swcked Mobile Shell 2.1 and Swcked Pocket Plus 4.0.I, and in case you can lead me to alternate solutions, I don't like that Swcked Mobile Shell limits you to just one page where you can place only 16 photo contacts. They could and should have allowed for multiple pages. As for Pocket Plus, I thought it was suppose to to improve the standard Contacts list by letting you add photos to each person in your address book, and that you could scroll through your list with your finger as you can on the HTC Touch or iPhone. I think it's called TouchFlo.

On a side note, I've got SkyFire, and this amazing little browser is certainly going to replace a lot of other applications, namely vTap, Pocket IE, and even some TV applications, as SkyFire seems able to bring multimedia elements of the web together. That's what I wish Swcked would do with their products instead of making a bunch of separate products that overlap in functionality and may not even work well together. What do you think?

ok im upping to mediafire for you........ and also if you use a skin like the diamond skin found here: https://www.wckediden.com/showthread.php?t=161399 and you will be able to now have 3 pages of the photo contacts.......... jsut scroll your finger across the screen from right to left and you will get a new page once this skin is installed.

Hey Matt,

I really appreciate you posting the mirrored link. I was a little unsure about installing keygen because the filename was so similar to the cab file, but I noticed the little key icon on this file once I downloaded it onto my desktop.

As far as the mobile shell 2.1 file, is this the final build? The reason I ask is because someone posted a message earlier in this thread about a final build that was available, and I just want to make sure the Swcked Mobile Shell 2.1 file that begins this thread is the most up to date, error free version.

As for installing the diamond skin to have extra pages of contacts, I will look into that link as soon as I install the Mobile Shell and enter the serial number with the keygen file.

Just so that I don't get confused, let me tell you what I will do:

1. Move the mobile shell CAB file into a temporary directory either on my phone or on the storage card using ActiveSync.

2. Unplug the phone from the computer to disconnect from ActiveSync.

3. On the phone, look for the CAB file I uploaded and double-click it (or whatever) to run it and have it install Mobile Shell 2.1. If it asks where I wish to install the program and the option to install is on my storage card, I will say yes to the storage card.

4. On my computer, run the EXE file that is supposed to be the keygen that will give me a serial number to enter manually onto the phone to register Mobile Shell 2.1.

So, does that accurately explain what I am supposed to do to successfully install this program and not worry about it expiring on me? Just so you know, I made a hard reset of my phone so that I could start everything from scratch now that I am a little more familiar with what I want and don't want on my phone.
