Overview: VITO Technology releases Winterface - a major breakthrough in the world of Windows Mobile interface. As a shell Winterface removes the necessity to turn to default Windows Mobile interface: Today screen and Start menu. Winterface opens instantly whenever users draw a simple gesture on the screen. It allows users to have as many screens as they need and put on them icons for applications, settings and contacts. The screens are flipped through with sliding finger gestures. The icons for such applications as phone, sms, email, battery, clock, calendar, memory, etc. - all show relevant information and thus replace a number of Today plug-ins.

Hopefully I'll put this on my phone tonite and play with it tomorrow. I'll update how it compares to just using the HTC home plugin and stuff. Thanks for the up.

i've used goodwin i think was the name which was just like this app. might be made by same company. app is nice, but it wasnt to customizable as far as skin wise. nice app just not my cup of tea.

So far so good. Real easy to install. Customization could be better. Easy as hell to launch and close. Simple to put new icons to all your apps w/o having to map anything(very nice). Does not eat up a lot storage or memory. Its actually pretty fast does not freeze at all. I am also running UL doesnt seem to interfer at all. Ill keep running for the next few days and give an update. So far i give it a 4 out of 5.

Ok i've been using this for 24 hours and found couple of small issues with it. For one its kinda annoying if you are using s2u2 it overides it but s2u2 is still there so you have to unlock twice. In my last post i said it worked ok with UL but after using it all day i found it doesn't when you slide your finger to move UL it recognizes the gesture as wanting to open Winterface. And also when you soft reset Winterface runs by default i have not figured out how to set it to run only when you open it. You can close it or minimize at any time but as soon as it is in standby and you wake the phone back up winterface is on. So my thoughts, if you like other apps like s2u2 and UL dont use this as it will interfer with them but it is a cool app if its the only one you use. If you have other thoughts or ideas about this let me know

thanks for the review... i was thinking that this could be a pretty cool almost swcked mobile shell kind of plugin that would be easily skinnable. i say after they work on this some more since it is the first "beta" release of the program, that it should get much better.

As always vito takes another step in the right direction. This application, though with great features, is quite obviously version 1.0. It's not quite nearly as customizable as need be. I kept in consideration the idea of keeping the application active on my mogul, but as time went on i couldn't help but grow more and more continuously frustrated with since the installation I have had to soft reset over and over. The biggest issue i had (other than constant reseting) is that to activate the program you are to do a right to left or vice versa sweep of the screen with your finger. with the way i have my mogul customized this basically renders my ultimate launcer unusable. Knowing Vito though I am sure that they will continuously tweak this app to perfection.

yeah, it's been a little while now since i uninstalled it with memmaid and i quit having to soft reset. It's too bad though. i really like how they skinned the whole program just like their new version of sms chat. hope it doesnt take too long for an update because i'm more than willing to give it another shot.

I agree with most of the comments, but I thought I'd throw in a couple of cents. It's a great app, if you run nothing else. For me, it was very smooth and responsive and had no issues with it bogging down my phone or having to soft reset. The ability to set up your apps and contacts is actually easy, but not ideal. If you have a lot of apps like myself, you'd be scrolling for days to get everything set up. But definitely a lot of potential with this app.

Hi Dash -- v1.0 installs flawlessly and looks pretty good. I'm currently experimenting with Winterface, PointUI and will be looking at Swcked Shell. Question for you... Your provided package installs v1.0 and the about screen shows activated. There's a v1.02 available, and if I install it over v1.0, the program is no longer considered activated and defaults to the trial version. Any way around this?

The speed at which I work doesn't provide enough time for me to evaluate the product. Whichever one I end up with, my intent is to buy it. What do you suggest?

winterface is alright, i wish it looks more flawless though and like i wish we can put our own backgrounds. but then again, the program is in early stages so who know what it might end up being.
