Need help, 224 error and a messed up phone...

Okay, my new mogul is starting to bug out... Some programs don't work, and it stops responding often. So I think a new ROM should help that. I was going to get the standard Alltel ROM to start with, then get a modded one if I felt like it.

BUT when I tried reinstalling the ROM on my Vista machine, I couldn't get the Mogul connected to the computer... very frustrating, so I went to my XP machine. I have Activesync connected, but when I run the installer I get the 224 error... WWWHHHYYY???

Is there any way to fix that error? and if there isn't can I flash the ROM from the MicroSD card I have?

All help is VERY welcome at this point!

ok your trying to flash a stock rom correct???? that would be an exe.... try to hard reset your device and restart your computer than do it again and see what that does for you.

Yes, stock ROM. I tried a hard reset and a restart of the computer and nothing.

you didnt unlock the phone did you???? and also try to put the phone in manual bootloader mode by pressing and holding the start button and the camera button while soft resetting with the stylus than flash

With that bootloader, do I just get it into that then try the install?

yup you will see a rainbow screen when you do it correctly..... than jsut run the exe from there... make sure when you have it plugged in that the phone says usb and not serial at the bottom. as long as it says that you will be connected to activesync or device center even though it wont register on your computer..... tell me how that works for you.

hahaha cool cool glad that it worked for you buddy..... now enjoy and think about going custom soon.
