it is not just that, if you look at the "change" he touts...its all a repeat of the past....look back 40 years and you will see things he is touting as his ideas for change, yet they are not new...
he is not original, he is not good for the foriegn affairs, and he reminds me a lot of Clinton...a lot of charisma and little sustanance....but that is my personal opinion |

if he is president he is the down fall for America and a sign the world is coming to an end!
He should never be president. I rather have a woman for my president than this guy and i dont want either one. Thats why im voting against him. I was just simply saying if i had to i would vote against him if i couldnt have voted against both. |

lol...has nothing to do with youtube....he will be the demise of this country period....its unfortunate because in my 40 years...this is the FIRST time I have felt there is not a good option for the presidential position. As far as a political stance...I am a realist....and this guy is a guy with very little experience and barely knows how to tie his shoes....With everything Russia is pulling right now, I want someone with experience in that position, even though it is just a figure head...we need experience, not something new....

bros/sistas, i personaly dont vote...but i can say i feel bad for OBAMA, i like the dude dont get me wrong but he'll need double the security bcuz its a proven fact that every strong black man in this country who CAN/HAS make a change has sadly been taken out...(including 2pac) i dont like McCANIE for alot of reasons but 1 is i think hes trying to walk down the same path as the BUSH'S. i also wouldnt b suprised if years from now one of the bush DAUGHTERS ran for president...
this WAR going on is a fight for money, is obama ends the war how high WILL the price on a gallon cost? and if we could find SADDAM in a ****n hole in the ground, why cant we find BIN LADDEN? also, LOL... if USA isnt supposed to b in cuba, why do we have a major FEDERAL PRISON in that damn counrty? (this is what i know/feel, please correct me if im wrong) |

i agree with you klone. every strong black man has been take out. Even in this election cycle . you have Magazine, Hilary Clinton, and others referencing the matter.
Iraq has a 92 billion dollar surplus in the bank. most of that money was promised to american people. saying it was going to use it to help pay for the war. They didn't use the iraq situation to lower gas prices for us. they use the market at the same price to build up that 92 BILLION dollar surplus. War suppose to bring jobs to america, Lets over look the whole haliburton thing.....there OUT SOURCING all the jobs..... Minimum is coming back into the us. From black water to military supplies all outsourched. and McCain talking about staying there. he already admitted he doesn't know about the economy. I see why. if he stays there and we continue to spend billions on this war. Our economy will be shot even more. |

This video appalls me...I actually am personally a bit disappointed now with the views of some people...I thought this was 2008...this is not an argumentative post...I'm just saying I'm disappointed with the video...this is exactly why our country is where we are now...can we focus on the issues that really matter...I'm a christian...and I just can't believe how people treat OBAMA and view that he has to be synonymous with everyone that he has come in contact with, and if you aren't AFRICAN-AMERICAN...you will not understand why Rev. Wright spoke the way he did in some of his sermons...but who really watched the full versions of those sermons, I MEAN COME ON NOW...I will say that I did not agree with the way the Wright continued on his media rant in the days to follow his first introduction to the world...one thing I can't do is have faith in the media...one thing I see from time to time, especially on CNN...is that several news interviews with people such as radio hosts, activists, authors, and what you have you, usually consist of a mixture of african and caucasian guests...but one thing that has seemed constant with the guests, for the exception of a gentleman named Rowland, is that the African-American guest is usually a very outspoken person who seems radical and actually sometimes can seem as if they are bent on viewing things racially...I do not begin to suppose that this is meant by the media to paint a picture that would display AFRICAN-AMERICANS in a somewhat radically racial driven way...I simply believe that this is a consistently odd reoccurrence, in my opinion.

It probably would be a good idea for all to try and ensure that you hear whatever McCain or Obama have to say in its entirety, rather than listening to whatever newscasters/etc. tell you what they are saying or have said.
Nothing gets me pissed off more than when I'm listening to McCain or Obama speak, and some egotistical, one-way or the other-leaning, "newsperson", thinking that whatever he or she has to say is more important for me to hear than what McCain or Obama are actually saying, chimes in to tell me what I'm hearing at that very moment... thanks, like I need your unbiased, and oftentimes uneducated, insight. I usually go ballistic at that point, yelling at the TV to just let me hear what they have to say -- I don't need you (the newscasters) to tell me what they're saying based upon your interpretation or political leaning! I have a mind of my own and certainly don't need you to explain things to me. Later, if I want to verify any statements expressed, I go to http://factcheck.org/ and see if my interpretation is in step with the facts, not what news or entertainment programs are telling me what to believe as fact. |

Re: You should watch this before voting
For people who don't vote y'all sure got a lot to say. If you really want to say it then vote. Otherwise your nonvoting is really voting for whatever candidate does win whether or not your support him. Opinions are like assholes...everyone has one and they all stink. So make your opinion matter and vote, son...seriously.
As for McCain and his experience...think about it. Yes he is a war veteran and he has been on the Hill for a minute. But experience? Doing what? He clearly wasnt a good soldier...HE GOT CAUGHT! I would prefer someone who had enough expertise to not get caught by the enemy personally. A POW aint really nuthin to be braggin about. Also its clear that when he was in the Vietnam War he was taking orders. He wasnt leading. He wasn't a General or some other military commander. He was takin orders in a subordinate position. Whoever wins this this election is doomed anyway. Noway McCain or Obama can turn around in 4 years what Bush has messed up in 8. |

He wasnt bad or good, he was just average as has been his Bush co-signing career on Capital Hill. Your comments about me being American are laughable and not worth a rebuttal. That statement is always the first line of defense persons who dont think use when they have no real thoughts of their own to say. Swallow your spit and keep it to yourself. " more experience than a junior senator" that junior senator had the forsight to
1. not to go into Iraq 2 His ideas to take the troops to the real war afganistan is now being apllied by the pentagon 3 time table for withdrawl is now also being applied by washington. I'm sorry but it don't take 100 years of experience to have common sense and if you follow party line like sheep then you deserve everything you get. Get your facts on both side. Hell McCain don't know the difference from Sunni and Shite, also don't don't know russia from the soviet union. How do you base your campaign on world events and leadership when you can't get those things straight. This mand is one DING from alzhimer. Last edited by Mandingo; 08-21-2008 at 04:46 PM. |

I don't know but I don't see much out of either of these guys. But we should definetly not have a muslim as a president. that's exactly what we are fitting in the middle east. terrorist that are Muslim tought to hate america from birth. Here in chicago there are several muslim temples who do nothing but teach hate america and white people.
What I'm really sick of is the racism that still goes on. All this white and black is ridiculous. Anyone that's even remotley anti america should be kicked out... And there is no reason for racism. All the non-black people I know are like we don't want a black president but don't have a clue about Obama's policies.. and every black person I know are just ruting for the black man without knowing any of his policies...... I went to a comedy show in an all black club and it was nothing but get the white man out (not me but I felt somewhat offended) and bush is ruining this country and "I can't wait till they announce Obama's name for the first time he addresses the country and comes out to some 50 cent.." We all need to grow up and start taking this countries future seriously.. It's not about black and white, It's about right and wrong |

First off there are muslim american and if they want to run for president then fine. Its our right as american that make this country great. You can be critical of your country with out being un-patriotic or anti-american.
Obama and McCain policy have been stated numerous times. They also posted on both of there website. Are there black people out there that will vote for obama because of his race ...SURE same goes the other way. Its no helping ignorant people. But if your Ensinuating the reason most blacks or I'm for Obama because he's black then your wrong. Me and a couple others just noting that Power men turn up dead. Common Sense. ......You grab McCain policy and compare them to Obama. The choice is easy for me and it has nothing to do with race. |

obama is not a muslim, yes his dad is , thus the name. Why should the name matter. If anything it has show positive light internationally. from our friends and enemy's. i like how that youtube video didn't state the religion of his mother, nor did that youtube video play the pledge of allegency when obama placed his hand over his heart. it just showed the nation athem.
Yeah bad reference with the comedy club, they alway'splay the audience based on demographics. i agree we're already at the bottom, the next president bar is not really set that high. Anything postive and he will be crown the savor. |

Lordhelmet: Asked and answered in a previous post. But I will make it clear for you.
McCain claims great leadership ability BASED of of his military career AND his years of experience on Capitol Hill. That has been his platform. He was not a bad soldier. But neither was his performance stellar. He was average. He just happens to tragically been a POW. Thank God he didnt die and he survived, but this is no experience that proves his as a leader. Once again - leadership ability is the platform HE has chosen. On Capitol Hill he has been an average Republican as well co-signing with party views only. As of today he doesnt even know how many homes he owns! Leaders dare to change the status quo not continue it. Im not saying Obama will do that, but I am saying clearly McCain will not. Look at it like your High School grade card: A= Good C= Average F= Bad All Im saying is McCain is a "C" in his military leadership history and thus should not use this experience to qualify himself as a more formidable leader. |

I'm gonna say this, and then I'm leaving this thread alone...
Whoever it was that said because a soldier was "caught" (banks i believe) that he wasn't a good leader...you are wrong...there could be a million and one variables as to why he got caught...another "wdbanks" could have been serving next to him and couldn't keep his ****ing mouth shut, so they got "caught." Don't make assumptions about their stories if you don't know all of it, yourself...another aspect of that statement, is this: anyone who served our country HAD TO (at one point, or another) TAKE ORDERS from SOMEONE...nobody, and I mean NOBODY serves this country without making their way to the top... What about all the soldiers that were held prisoner and killed in our current war with Iraq? Were none of those YOUNG people qualified to be leaders later in life?!?! Do you really think that people are just born into being a General somewhere?? edit: D/\SH, i didn't mean to jump on a soawckedox, and i know you didn't intend for this thread to turn into a pissing match, so sorry to jump off the cliff like everyone else, i know you thought it would be interesting, and that it wasn't intended as it has turned out...so no worries.."peace!" your confusing me dash, you post this you tube video with the title " You should watch this before voting" Yet your voting for obama? Just to be fair you should posted on of each canidate...I can find plenty on McCain.
Like i said before i don't think anybody's offended or mad i think people are really passionate about the race this year because like mentioned it is very important. I don't agree with everything obama stands for but i do think he's way above where McCain is. I would love for someone to give me good TRUE talking points on McCain. |

this is utter senseless. to start off when the star spangle banner is being played the only thing you are actually suppose to do is remove your hat and face the flag OR where the music is coming from if no flag is present. it is only required to have your hand over your heart during the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE.
going even further. he says its his SPIRITUAL mentor aka teaches him his religion. which in this video tries to confuse you with his moral beliefs. they are 2 utterly different things. third, he is fully american or else he wouldn't be able to run for president. the fact you guys don't like him because he has muslim heritage is in the same basis of hating someone because there black or mexican.(think about it) fourth. him not wearing the button. since when are you required to wear a button??? its his free choice which is what makes this country free. fifth. his wife making her statement. how should her personal opinion decide his fate to becomming president? not to mention she makes this statement to show she fully supports her husband. and finally, if you think about this as a whole you will see that you merely don't want him as president because of his religion. is this country built upon the basis of separation of churche and state??? better yet isn't that in i think the bill of rights??? and even further if religion is the case why would we want Mccain? believe it or not he cheated on his wife. aka known as adultery aka the 7th COMMANDMENT. believe thats all i really have to say on this rant. |
