yes thats correct what you will want to do is use the relocker on your phone (found in my signature in the flashing tutorial) and than flash the rom from htc.com..... that will be the newest and you will have no troubles... the only time that you will run into troubles and possibly brick the phone is if you go from a gps rom to a non gps rom.

okay retarded again from what i understand you can use the FLASH method to rock the new radio firmware (coming from Kaos Take 3 with 3.42.02) to the vogue 3.42.30 ? (what is up with .40 and .50?)

then you install this?

I'd like to give this a shot but i'm not 100% clear on the upgrade path. It seems alot easier to not re-lock the phone to get the radio upgrade using the sd card method? Or is that just a bad idea.

I guess i'm asking if thats the best kaos take 3 to hybrid path?

on this rom i have just got done experimenting with wisbar advanced with the vista theme. it runs it pretty quick and its actually not bad because it still leaves me with 15 mb in my pool.

yeah im ready to try this. had some weird issues with VTAP on kaos take 3 where half the screen wasn't being used.

the folks at XDA have a neat runner that shows which releases by which person is compatible with which radio.

in that list for DCD several releases may work with several radio (Versions) this makes it pretty clear.

well did the upgrade. not sure if it worked quite right because i followed the after instructions and it didn't autotier install much.

any way to get rid of those sprint junk ondemand and nav and store once it is installed or should i hard reset and start over.

Can't say this was a big improvement over take 3.

How come no opera? The IE browser is donkey compared to the mac iphone 90% of the sites don't render in the IE but do on iphone.they got safari for WM6.1 yet???

yeah, only way to uninstall is to do a hard reset. only thing that changed in the hybrid rom is that he changed the page pool and added some diamond stuff (theme and sounds) and some other minor changes

yes just dont let the sprint customizations run... all you have to do when it says customizing in 3...2....1... is soft reset before it gerts to zero and you will be golden.

there is no customizing..it was left out....so just flash select what you want from sd and run..

bmw lovin' the new bluetooth!

is there any way to get a decent browser like the iphone? maybe use a big chunk of microsdhc for swap.

heck sometimes i just use RDP to my boxen to thin client the browser IE is so bad!.

any ideas?

to fix the internet you have to run the iota cab in the extended rom..... and for the browser sign up ofr skyfire at www.skyfire.com and use the beta code michael8

I say almost, because I can't get the themes to change. No matter what theme I pick.....it doesn't change. I can add a picture as a background, but that's about it.

worked for me, try a soft reset after registry change.

looks correct to me, then i hit ok/ok/menu/exit, then soft reset, has worked everytime for me

Yup, DEC is 40.

Weird thing is when I slide the keyboard out.....the theme changes!

So, in Portrait it stays on Manila (or whatever the stock theme name is) and in Landscape it changes to whatever I set it as.

Well, the only thing I've personally changed in the registry is the theme value. And if my only problem is not being able to change my themes....I'll pass on the hard reset....don't feel like going through setup again.....yet.

thats not it bro, everytime you add a program or uninstall a porgram the registry is changed and sometimes during uninstall registry changes arent made like they are supposed to be..... i would try to use a program like sktools or pocket mechanic professional and clean up the registry...... jsut be careful on what you delete or you will cause yourself a hard reset.

huh you got some major troubles with your phone i dont think that will help and you are almost guarnteed going to have to do a hard reset for sure.

no problem that arent that bad really bro trust me i flash a phone a day at least with new roms i test for the site...... so i do alot of set-ups personally and than i have customers phones on top of that.

I could just use a back-up, but won't that back-up the registry the way it is now?

yes you dont want to back up with problems....... backups are meant to be used when you get done installing everything...... once everything is installed you make a back up and put that aside.... i dont use them for the mere fact that they dont perform as nicely as ifyou just hard reset.

eh..he talking about the regular take 3 compared to his hybrid. the hybrid has a bigger pagepool and added diamond stuff like rings and a theme.

hi thx for the reply. I just unlocked my phone and now I am running the radio update to 3.42.30 but it stops at 8% and disconnects from my computer windows vista if that helps and then reconnects again. the update utility give me error 328 invaild command.

i dunno anything about vista but have you tried flashing with the microsd card? that works better and faster than having to go through the ruu utility. you would take the radio file and rename it to titaimg.nbh and drop it into a microsd card that is 2gb or less and formatted to FAT32. then you put phone in bootloader mode and flash then softreset. same goes for flashing the rom. oh yeah, important thing, make sure you are using olipro 2.40 and not 1.20

try to flash the rom first than flash the radio second and see what that does for you.

Ok so I flashed the rom already and it seems to be running fine. but it is on radio 3.42.02. I tried on and xp machine too and it did the same thing :(

anything else I can do or did I some hoe forget something?

seems like you're trying to flash radio through activesync. i'd recommend doing it by sdcard. it's much easier and faster. all you have to do is rename the radio file to titaimg.nbh and put it on on your microsd card thats flashed to FAT32. and then put in your phone and put in bootloader mode by pressing power button + camera button them the reset button.
