Ya same prob on mine... I thnk there is a problem with the new rom cuz it automatically resets it to the other choice and it wont stay on the specific dns we assigned. Is there a way around this?

unfortunately not as you have prolly noticed in the threads many apps dont work with the official 6.1 rom thanks to sprint. but if you go custom they work fine........ and trust me once you go custom you will always wonder to yourself why you didnt do it right out of the box.

aint that the truth!!! Sprints rom is bullcrap on my phone, the gps dont find squat and i ran the speedtest rite now with this hack applied and i got 257kb sec :40: im flashing back to mustan-tech as we speak where i had 1.37mb sec

So this doesn't work with Sprint ROM? What was timer wheel size before I switched to 5? Also can I or should I dl Kaos rom from my mogul or should I do something that serious from pc?

no this works fine on the sprint version its just not as fast as the custom roms.... thats it.

Im only getting speeds of 85kb/sec average. what should I be getting with sprint rom? Also changing dns settings doesn't save as well, it goes back to server assigned IP addresses. thanks for quick response!!!!

i dont know what went wrong....

i used to get 1.37mb sec with this hack in the rom im running now, i flashed to try out kaos rom and after testing it i flashed back to my original rom (mustan-tech) and now when i apply the hack i get slow ass speeds like 266kb sec to 438kc sec!!!! slower than stock

i changed the timerwheelsize to 5 and changed the dns settings to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2

what gives???? any ideas???

no clue.... make sure you are in a good service area reception wise with your phone.

Great so I downloaded this file......do I just put it in program files (device or storage card?) and run it? And then do I have to adjust the dns myself or does this file do it? I'm still new to a lot of this stuff and have never changed any registry settings

no you have to do it through registry... get a registry editor like resco registry editor and just follow the steps in the thread and you will be fine.

Ok I have resco registry editor and when I go into it there are four folders....all starting with HKEY_.....I don't know which one to go into? I couldn't find HKML....and as for the attachment....what do I do with it....do i just run that on my phone if I want to go back to my default registry? I'm kind of confused.

go custom rom if you havent already, make sure you use a task manager to close out of all programs since hitting x only minimizes and runs in the background...

hey dash, was up! I tried this and when I did the speed test this is what I got; 1036 kbit/sec, 0.151s latency, 8.056s d/l time. is that good? this is the first time I did a speed test on my phone, I didn't even know I could do it before I read this, thanks!

I don't know if this is a fluke or what, may need more testing, but I just received a replacement mogul from sprint and it has PRL 60714 on it. I don't see this PRL on the Corolada page but i do notice a huge download speed increase while tethering. :shrug: I will run some speed tests later and report back.

This is my best with PRL 60714. (speedtest.net I peaked at 1000kbps though)

I ran PRL 60614 on my previous mogul and attained speeds about 100k lower, for download, and about 200k lower for upload. Poor signal around here(1 bar in my house if i'm lucky)
This is on my same setup as my previous mogul (DCD 3.3.4 w/ m2d update20)Not too scientific I know. But my SOTP meter tells me my internet is faster. :wink:

Those are 2 diffrent things the file explorer is something when you can view and open your files registry editor is when you can change registry hacks which i suggest you dont change if you dont know what your doin

theirs many just do a search for registry editor...... they all do the same.

you just downloaded the file explorer... you will need to get resco registry editor or any other one........ many of them are freeware so searching here or google for registry edito (ppc) will work for you.

all you do is open resco file explorer, hit menu/options/add-ins, there you should be able to download resco registry. hope that helps.

From my understanding dont think it will matter on the internet you have. Will just boost the speed it runs at.
