[APP] VIBRATION FEEDBACK ON SCREEN TOUCH (not just dialer)

This Software lets the phone vibrate when the touchscreen is touched. This feature is knwon from the Samsung Omnia Phone for example. It gives a better response and feeling for a finger tip on the screen.

It consists of two parts. The first one is VOA aka vibrate.exe (which is already mentioned in different threads) by Const and a configuration part VOAConfig by Kisja.

VOA by Const
It's a little application which runs in background and reacts on user activities with vibration.

Features:
- Vibrate always on touch events (mouse down, or mouse up)
- Vibrate only if SIP is active
- Vibrate on Key press (hardware keys)
- Adjustable vibration (duration in ms)
- configuration over command line parameters
- fully event based, so only battery consumption while vibrating
- No runtimes needed (pure C++ application)
- Works with WM 5+ (not 2003)

Command Line Parameters:
-nled: Which nled to use (1 on Diamond)
-len: vibration duration in milliseconds
-ondown: 0 - on mouse up, 1 - on mouse down
-onsip: 0 - handle every touch event, 1 - vibrate only if SIP is active
-keyon: 1 - Vibrate on Key press (is not affected by onsip!)

Known Issues/TODO:
- If onsip 1 is set, the Dialpad (Phone) is ignored, because it is not the SIP.

VOAConfig by Kisja

This application makes the configuration of VOA more simple.

Features:
- Choose activity mode (always/SIP only) (-onsip 0/1)
- Enable Vibration on Keys (-onkey 0/1)
- Enable VOA on startup (autostart)
- Choose vibration duration/strength (-len x)
- Start/Stop VOA
- Saves settings in registry
- Source code open (VisualBasic .NET/VS 2008 Solution)
- .NET 2.0/3.5 Runtime needed

TODO:
- Optimize duration option (Slider)
- Implement -ondown and -nled options

What it does not do
and what will possibly never be implemented:
- hook in other applications. VOA uses a systemwide activity timer to recognize events and does not communicate directly with other applications. This causes sometimes a little lag between the touch event and the vibration. Hooking into other applications would speed it up, but most applications do not have public events to react on.
- reduce touch screen area (for which vibration is activated) to windows borders or something else (think of SIP). VOA reacts on touch events on the whole touch screen (and keys under the display on the HTC Dieamond, cause they are touch capable too).


Files
The CAB file includes both applications in a single install file.
The version number reflects the version of VOAConfig and the Date stands for the release Date of VOA.

When I install the first cab file, it gives a warning stating it may not work property because it was installed for a different version of WM?
Im on 6.1. Big deal or no?

One other note...do I need to export the 3rd config file and edit in Visual Studio or? It has no exe's or anything to run. Is there an option to turn it off, after it gets annoying! (w/o un installing)

if your experienced in programming go right ahead and edit to your preference bro, but on most cases if your not then un install is your best resolution

hey, it doesnt seem to be working for me..i install the cab in device, went to prog.. vib feed back selected 'vib always/vib keypress/enable start up and set it to 161 save and exit and an 'error occurred in voa config exe. am i setting it wrong ??

NINE'SICKS ... did you download all three programs? I ran the cab first, then ran the 2nd exe in the second zip file, then everything worked great. I didn't need a soft reset either.

You only need the cab, and it will start vibrating immediately. The config tool didn't work right for me till the rest was done. Let me know if this solves your issue!

i installed the cab ran it but when i try to save setting i get a error...imma soft reset, and see what happens.

that error was reported already to the developer, still applies the settings anyway

Theres three ways to save. The lower right hand corner "Save and Exit", The higher left button "SAVE" and going down to Options on the lower left and doing "Save and Exit". Try all three and see if one works over the others...(also on the second zip VOA-10.09.2008.zip), I physcially dbl clicked the voa.exe file. just as a heads up..I would try that to if nothing else including your soft reset did the trick..Let me know!

lol.. the soft reset did the trick but can i set it for the screen only and not the hard buttons cuz as i type this it vib's....

this is what i was looking for. installed via the cab on my phone, install placed it in the program files and works like a charm, no reset or anything.

The only thing is the vib is pretty strong, not sure if there's anyway to turn it down (i've already put it to 1 ms but the actual vib seems full power, but that might be a hardware thing that can't be switched)

installed the cab but not working on my touch..... i don need to install those 2 zip files rite... i think thats what i read..... on the conf. i selected vibrate always, vibrate on keypress and duration is on 1 ms.... is there anything else i need to do ?????

u may need to soft reset, i didnt but try it out.

yes it eats alot of battery depending on what u do, but unselect 'sounds and notification/hardware buttons' becuz itll vib like hell when ur texting!
