Default Display Problem

I have the altell version of the HTC ppc 6800. I didnt drop it or anything i wuz texting with the phone on charge and the screen went almost blank (it has a dim backlight). The phone works but the guy at the store had to do a hard reset to get the screen back but it only works with it open and i have to put the speaker on to hear who I'm talking to the mic doesn't work. Now it cant get it to hard reset. I have not a clue what is wrong. I would just like to use the phone til i get it replaced. Any help?

sounds like you have hardware issues on your phone if you ask me.... try to reflash like jew said and if that doesnt work i would have to say that the phone is a goner.

well it will do that but sometimes files on the rom can get corrupted and that can cause the troubles so if you flash the stock rom back on there you will get new files and they should fix the corrupt files if that is what the trouble that you are having is being caused by that.
