WellI SETTLED (ALLTEL)

Well bottom line after much, much thought, I went ahead and "settled" for the offer Alltel gave me. they credit my account $95.00 (for the insurance deductible) and send me a brand new HTC Touch 6900. I'm still having serious trouble with my 6800, everyday it's getting worse and worse, soft resetting isn't working anymore. As Dashy well knows, I just flashed the rom not too long ago, and it worked fine for a little while, but I can hardly use it now due to all the "issues" it's having.

So was wondering what you guys/girls thoughts were, if I made a bad decision or if I will be happy with the Touch? The only thing that worries me is the NO KEYBOARD! LOL. but I've done some searching and see there's a large key keyboard app for that too. I mean Wckediden has it ALL! already knew that!

anyways, let me know what you think? and the TOUCH is touchflo 3D right? I don't know, I gotta do some more research.

no, the touch came out 6-8 months after the mogul did...... it will have touchflo but not 3d.... you will have the cube on the stock rom of the one that they send you. so basically the only difference beside the keyboard is on the touch you wont have wifi..... but you do gain double the ram to run many processes all at once :starwars:

ok so is the Swcked full-screen keyboard current version working for the touch now, b/c that's my only worry? the wifi thing, I never used anyways. Hopefully the apps and stuff won't be much different so it won't be like starting all over with what I have learned thus far! appreciate the response, as always.

and how hard is it to change the themes and stuff, does the touch also use like the .tsk files and you just drop them in themes? or do I download the Manila 2D customizer thing and do it the way I've been doing with my mogul since you helped me update the rom to touchflo 2D?

you could aways look into PCM keyboard for your touch. it's like the iphone keyboard so when your finger is over the key it pops up above it (works great in landscape)

OK, so I'm working on my "list" of apps and goodies I want to load onto my touch when it comes tomorrow. ONE huge thing I love changing around ALL the time is THEMES? so what type of themes can I install on the touch? QVGA/VGA?

also, Dashy helped me flash my rom on my mogul and it has the touchflo 2D now, would I have to flash my rom to get the touch to look the same as the touchflo 2D and to be able to install touchflo 2D themes? I've really gotten used to this type theme and really like it. haven't worked with the cube much, I know that's what's coming stock on it though.

yeah you can add 2d to your touch it is qvga jsut like your mogul.... there are many roms out there for the touch (since it has more ram) that adapt touchflo 2d right in them.... we got a step by step tutorial or i could just help you out via text or phone again if needed.... you will find touchflo to be faster and more stavle on your touch also... whatever you used on your mogul will work without troubles on your touch so no worries there. if you have any further questions feel free to ask hun : >

I love the Touch and still have one as Backup phone (so to speaK). I love my touch and wont even sell it... Great phone... There are some good on screen keyboards out there that can help the no keyboard factor. Its work it for the MEMORY difference alone. I was in your shows a 6 months ago.. You have to take the goood with the bad.. No keyboard, but more memory! Enjoy your new phone... i think it will grow on ya.. it did for me after a week or so.

THANKS A BUNCH JEW!!! words of encouragement, it's just sad b/c I had my heart set on the PRO. but I will live with it, really don't have a choice..........LOL!! I'll get the rom flashed to touchflo 2D which I love, and load up all the other fav apps, and I'll be good to go.
