Is there an all-in-one package
I have a U.S. Cellular HTC PPC 6800 that I just got from Signal Insurance (I broke my old HTC PPC 6800). The old one used to freeze after having thrown it due to anger getting out of control.
In other words, I used to have a sweet phone with Ultimate Launch, LG Buttons, a few games (worms, guitar hero 3, simcity2000, and scummvm), HTC home customizer, the flashlight mod (can't remember what it's called), the contacts list from HTC Touch, and I can't remember what else. Before sending in my broken phone, I tried to sync it, but I couldn't sync contacts or anything but actual folders and files themselves. I copied the entire phone into a folder, but none of these programs are on my new phone yet. My new ppc6800 is still untouched, and I would like to know if I can recover my old phone's information (contacts and such) to this phone. And is there another all-in-one package like the one I had downloaded back in the day? It came with all of those programs I mentioned (games didn't come with it) and then some. I also had a dancing Stewie from Family Guy for a loading screen instead of the rainbow, XM Radio, SMS Chat (one of my favorites), and mobitv. If someone could point me to an all-in-one package, I can't seem to find the other one from before, I would be so happy! Please help me get my new phone working like my old one, and if there is a way to recieve picture/video messages on my phone, could you hook me up with that as well? Thank you so much! |

Re: Is there an all-in-one package
I found the all-in-one package stored on my external hard drive, but I couldn't find it here. It was originally uploaded by you. thanks for the info on the contacts backup program...Anything on the picture messages? I haven't done anything to my phone yet, and it won't sync to the pc...What is up with this thing? I did do a search, and am coming up empty handed.

Re: Is there an all-in-one package
That's the one! Is there a newer staff picks all in one? I was hoping that if i reinstalled that contacts program, if I copied the old file to the new install, that I could hopefully get my contacts back. I haven't been here in so long, I just want my old stuff or a quick install package.

Re: Is there an all-in-one package
Alright, thanks dash. I'll get there eventually. I just am most worried about being able to store my old contacts from the old files, and getting some picture messages. Last question, is there a program around here that can give MMS on my Mogul?

yes, if you do a search using the search feature to the right of the banner for mms* you will find what you are looking for.

Re: Is there an all-in-one package
you will want the uscellular carrier cab... they are freeware and made by dcd so you can find here or at xda.... you have to run that to get it since sprints version wont work.

Re: Is there an all-in-one package
Ok, man. I finally found the uscc dcd cab. Which mms program should I install? There are a few different ones, and I want the one that works best with my mogul. You are THE expert when it comes to the ppc-6800, so that's why I ask you. What works, and what not to install.
Could you please name the program for mms that would work best for my Mogul? With that uscc.cab? Thank you so much D^SH! |

Re: Is there an all-in-one package
it says: G66: There was an error trying to register your phone.
I installed WinPM.cab first, then the dcd_USCC_Carrier_20080801.cab |

Re: Is there an all-in-one package
That's the thing, I've been searching since yesterday and I can find the questions, just not the answers. It will mention us cellular somewhere in the thread, but it's usually a sprint thing...Or cricket. Or alltell. Or anything that's not us cellular. Oh well, I got most of my stuff back on my phone, this was just an extra. Don't really need it anyway, but I got into it and wanted to know if it was possible. I can still use email, and I have an unlimited data plan. It just sucks that when i receive a picture message, I can't sign up to look at it. Even though i sent it with another phone to mine personally, it shows up as being sent from 4444 and it gives you a link to view the message. When you follow the link, it wants me to register an account so i can have an online photo album to send/receive from. In order to activate it, it wants me to send it a picture message...Circular loop of frustration and unsolvable. I have declared US Cellular smartphones to officially suck balls. They can do everything all the other carriers can, except for picture messages. I also had this problem with my old MotoQ, but I could check them online. They keep changing stuff with MMS and it's not for the better, it has gotten worse. Not your fault, just explaining why it is impossible at this point for a US Cellular smartphone owner to recieve MMS...
But I can still send them, just no point in that if i can't recieve one back. Let's say my girlfriend was at a party and wanted to send me a picture? I can't get it. Or if I'm out of state, and she wants to make me a "special" personal movie clip to send? I don't want to be left out! thanks anyway, and I hope us cellular does something about this soon... |
