FEWidgets v1.0.0b6 (Freeware)

Overview: Omnia like widgets work for all resolutions



Features:
- Haptic feedback. When clicking on widget buttons you'll feel a small vibration.
- Can be run as a Today Plugin. (It must be the only one selected)
- Multiple Layouts/Pages support (up to 4).
- Support for Landscape/Portrait modes.
- VGA/QVGA/WQVGA support.
- Extensible/Open architecture. Anyone can create it's own widgets just using flash. If you need something "special" and know some C#, you can extend available commands through a custom assembly

Implemented Widgets:
- Battery/Phone signal Strength indicator. New!
- S2P Player control. New!
- Analog Clock
- Diamond like Clock
- Background Image Changer
- Bluetooth State (Can turn on/off)
- Wi-Fi State (Can turn on/off)
- Quick Dial.
- Layout swapper.
- Locker (locks widget dragging)
- Calendar (when tapped will link to \Windows\Calendar.lnk)
- Shortcuts Widget. This widget allows creating shortcuts to exe/lnk files. You can drop the widget as many times as you want.
- Missed Calls. Shows the number of missed calls. When double tapped will take you to the missed calls log.
- "Profile" changer. Lets you switch between On/Vibrate/Off modes.
- Weather. Shows you the weather for today. Current temperature and forecasted Min/Max for today.
- SMS information. Once you drop this widget once, if you remove it, it'll spawn automatically the next time you have an SMS message on the same possition you had placed it.

- Fixed: When changing from Portrait to Landscape or vice versa with the docking bar closed, it would dissapear.

· New widgets will now be installed upon application start even when working as a today plugin (it won't require plugin restart)
· [Fixed] Multithreading bug on FECommandProvider.
· Added multithreading option for testing. It should "improve" performance when activated.
· Fixed events bug when working on multithreaded mode.
· Added a new custom Thread pool, in order to synchronize working threads.
· [Fixed] Uninstaller would always throw an error.
· Separated install process on a different Executable file.
· Widgets will now be installed when today plugin starts.

- [Fixed] On some devices docking the Widgets Bar at the bottom will make the bar overlap the menu. (because today window size is not calculated correctly)
- [Fixed] If the WidgetsBar docking is set to bottom and then to left again it won't update the Show/Hide button properly.
- [Fixed] Some applications are not launched correctly.
- [Fixed] On the VGA version some programs are displayed without icons.
- [Fixed] Error messages would display the error on the title.
- [Fixed] When switching fullscreen on and then off application window size won't be calculated properly.
- [Changed] Kinetic speed on VGA/WVGA devices is now increased.
- [Changed] Drag distance to differenciate a tap from a drag operatino is now doubled on VGA/WVGA devices.
- [Changed] On the Task Manager Widget, now the first icon is always arranged at the bottom instead of on the left.
- [New] Added a new parameter for widgets (can be set on widgets.xml) which allows specifying a distance to be left between the snap point on the widget with the parameter set and the snapped snap point on the perpendicular axis to the one the snapping took place.

I installed the b8 version of this and for some reason my widgets won't show up when I checked the widgets tab for my today screen. Anybody know why?

this software runs on flash player 7. make sure you have it installed

not working for me for some reason..... it wont display anything and active start by its self and my fone freezes up....... i tried istalling everything to my storage and then to my main memory but nothings working... any idea ????

you are only using the widgets plugin and not the other samsung ones correct? and you have the correct version of flash and framework too right? other than that i dont know why it wouldnt work for you.... but honestly i would wait, its cool to tinker with but the widgets that come with it are the only ones that are made for it at this time.... pretty limited and its really small text and icons... on top of that you cant lock them to the background so if you drag anythign across the screen your widgets will move with that drag.... jsut my opinion on the program.... but if you have any further questions feel free to ask

I downloaded flash and If I go to programs and click on widgets I can pick them and mess with them but I can't get it to work on my today screen. I don't know how to check which framework I have.

if you get it to launch than you have the correct framework version..... what do you mean that you can get them to work on your homescreen? are the shortcuts not leading to anywhere or what?

When I go to start\programs\FEWidgets it works fine...however, when I check the widgets plugin.....and nothing else, all that appears is a scroll bar on the right hand side of the today screen....no widgets.

Nevermind I got it to work....thanks though

huh do you mind taking a screenie so i can see what you are talking about? sorry having a hard time picturing what you are going through. also a picture of the tab where you check stuff to be added to your homescreen would be nice also if it isnt too much trouble.

should be able to click and hold and go to the settingsd or their should be some sort of configuration option like through menu or something.... havent used this since i was running the hibby rom that had it built in but that was damn near 6 months ago if not mistaking.

word good luck on your hunt dont know much about gsm touch pro roms...... if you want a fully skinned one with some extras many love nrgz.

Crap forgot to update my info. I am running a Samsung Omnia CDMA now. (CDMA?) Verizon. I tried out the Verizon version of the Touch Pro, it was SLOW and laggy. Same with their TP2. This Omnia, despite it's quirks, is damn fast and beautiful

I hate the "My Storage" partition though, just gimme more program memory. That is the 2 reasons I am trying to figure out the ROM thing, quirks and space.

damn omnia two coming within the next few weeks and the tp2 i own through verizon and have no lag issues at all nad i love it :) still cant wait for custom to get rid of all the bloatware and everything

Another issue I have with FEWidgets is that fact that it only works when installed to program memory. I want to install it to My Storage or Storage Card...

sorry many apps are like that... many need the main memory install since it has to be booted first and main memory is booted before storage card on your phone.

You can also check Samsung's page, CNet, and more. It has an 8GB partition called "My Storage". I wish this was not there, that it was all one partition, and them my 16GB storage card...

Tried this....it too has a lot of good things but cant seem to get the basic things like easy setup, a good SMS system and fluid movement down.

I am going back to swcked mobile 3.5.
HOPING ON THE ANDROID TO TP ROM IS COMING SOON. hint*hint
