tell me what you all think.... the dark red/purple is wine rit liquid dye, than you have sunset orange at the end and royal blue for the blue version of it the brownish color one is tan mixed with a little red to give it some vibrance and it does truthfully look great. i would like to thank those you got me the covers when i broke mine. (also to those that sent the covers if you want a custom one done i can get you covered... just give me time to find some more covers and i got you with custom designs if wanted also

btw the orange doesnt show nearly as beautiful as it does in person..... the same goes for the others as all other people that have taken pics can vouch for.....

if ur goin black its super easy just get some RIT dye from walmart and put about half of it in a pot and let it boil, and then turn the heat down, i turned it down between a quarter heat to half heat and throw your cover in. There's no need for tape or anything on the camera lens as the dye is fabric dye and won't get on the plastic. Stir it occasionally for about 35 minutes and bam! you got yourself a black battery cover. I did it and it worked beautifully.

well thats the problem I want to keep original back cover "as is," and I can't seem to find any additional back covers online on ebay or anywhere else...so since Dash has the hook up, I figure he can get me some extra covers, and then why not let him just do the colors...lol...

i wish i had the hookups for these..... i just got these when i broke mine from members here that were gracious enough to send them out...... i will continue to look in my area and see what i can find...

yeah as dash said they are really hard to find for some reason but i hear ya on keeping the original but you know what they say "once you go black you never go back"...hahahaha

hahahah i dont even have one in the original color..... if i need to take it in i will tell them i lost the battery cover and what are they going to say to me..... hell i would bring it in with a different color, since their isnt any water damage they cant say shit.

Yeah, I've been doing a little searching myself since I saw this post with no luck. I'm sure if enough people make enough noise, there will be something in the works!

guys have ya thought about calling sprint themselves???? but anyway as for dye directions give me some simple steps

1) put water in pot and let it boil
2) when it starts boil add dye and turn heat down
3) leave for 30-35 minutes while stirring occasionally
4) what else lol

are these right or did i skip a step? also do these work for all colors?

yes they work for all colors and if you want black leave it in there longer for it to get darker. on other colors you will want to be sure to check and take out when it reaches the desired darkness otherwise it will get darker.

I did the sunshine orange rit dye last night and got these results. its more of a burnt orange and im going to attempt it again as soon as i get more covers

Also after i buffed the hell out of it i wiped it down with some alcohol to make sure it didnt rub off anymore

the alcohol will fade it and loosen the grip so now it will fade and leave in your hand for a lil bit of time. and buffing should only take a couple minutes..... but to get the orange that i got i also added about a tablespoon of wine liquid rit dye coloring and came out like mine...

Looks great bro and enjoy the hell out of it.... does the orange look way lighter and more yellow tint in prson like mine does?

how muc is in the dye? does it say how much water to add? and use the whole bag of dye. put the water close to a boil.....not enough to boil but just enough that it would burn if ya touched it...lol....drop in the dye, stir till it disolves drop in the cover and stir continuously for 15 min.....take it out put it under warm water to wash away extra dye.....bam! you got yourself a new cover....do it son

its a new un opened bag and yea it says drop the whole bag in per 3 pounds of fabric not a sprint tp battery cover lol...i think its like half a bag per battery cover no?

ok broski this is what you do and everyone has a different way..... this is coming from a auto painters mind so i know colors a little more than most people...

1. take a solo sized cup (party cup) and fill that up with water just deep enough so the whole battery cover will be covered in water.
2. place in the microwave for 3 minutes
3. add more dye for the darker you want the color to be (more dye darker blue almost black) (less dye lighter blue)
4. once your amount is added that you want than stir to mix
5. drop the battery door into the cup and stir periodically every 2 minutes or so to make sure that the dye stays mixed with the water
6. periodically check to make sure you dont go to dark with the color and end up with black....
7. ENJOY.|

lol yea i added maybe half the baggy and left in there for about 8 minutes...its all good i learned how to do it and the next one ill kno exactly what to do...but it aint black, its a real dark navy blue but almost black lmaoo

yeah and go with a light blue.... i wouldnt go with the navy or anything since it does get dark sooooo fast...... you could go with the royal blue like i did or even the denim blue but def no darker than denim blue.....

you can go from light to dark but not from dark to light......

what about a custom design? what i think would be cool is a "Ford" or "Ford Racing" lettering down the battery cover and maybe the ford blue and red letters. im a big ford guy...or "Mustang" Down the middle..oh the ideas. any idea how id getsomething like this? tape it off befre i put it in the dye?
