wifi woes
I have been through the forum picking up bits of information for days now. However, to settle my curiosity on the subject I thought I should ask this. I am getting tired of endless hard resets.
I just bought an htc mogul (Cheaper than Touchpro-which I will get at the end of the year when I sign a contract) Problem: My mogul will not detect any wi-fi connections (anywhere. School, home, starbucks, qdoba= Switch on or off and not in flight mode). The icon appears in the status bar, but only in the skinny form. No bubbles open with information about connectsion. I also get no green light from the left side. I am using this phone to end out my contract and I wanted it for wi-fi because I haven't decided to get a data plan yet. (I am a graduate student so everywhere I go I have wifi.) My mogul is running the latest stock rom's. Here are some things I have tried. 1.Hard and soft resets-my poor stylus is tired 2. Playing with the network settings (i.e. changing internet work settings, access point to all) 3.Praying and Hail Mary's 4.Using an unrelated ics fix program because I am desperate(caused my phone to freeze) 5.Flipping flight mode on and off I have NOT used a new rom on the phone. I have heard some people (few) have had success doing this. I am computer literate but also new to the phone so I haven't made the leap. The iolite tf2d cab is pretty enough for me right now. Also the bluetooth Does work- and theoretically the evdo would too, but I have sprint block it so that I don't accidentlally incur charges. Question: Is there a comprehensive listing of things to try in the forum that I have missed? Do you have suggestions? Does using a new rom have potential to fix this? If so what should I use? I am computer literate and a quick study, but no expert in the world of mobile computing (I study rhetoric and philosophy) so if I have said something stupid please forgive (or insult and use the smiley to maintain my confidence). All help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks you, James |

and the touch pro will be old news by that time and there will be at least a couple newer and better devices that come out. |

Re: wifi woes
Data plan is in the process of being budgeted (gradstudent=poor). The wifi just would serve great convenience. Ultimately, the ease of organization is the most needed aspect of the ppc. Also being able to work on word documents and reading pdf is a huge plus for me.
I had hoped it was not a switch issue since the icon appears in the bar, but I do not really know the ends and outs of these things too well. THanks, James |

Re: wifi woes
I have the same phone and was having the same problems... so i called my service provider (sprint) and asked for technical support, were tried messing with a couple of diffrent settings and still no connections to any wireless port's so they sent me a new one and now wifi works fine. I would recomend doing the same thing and calling your service provider and first see if they can troubleshoot... if not hopefully u have insurance and they send you a new phone. Good luck hope it works out for you
