Alltel - EMail Browser Problem (Alltel)

Got a problem that after doing search can't find answer to. for a PPC 6800
After inputting settings for Alltel Data:
User name: Phonenumber@alltel.net
Password: alltel

I can not get the info to save, therefore each time the pop-up appears for the phone settings. After I enter them i can get email and browse, however once i get out of the applications. They will have to be re-entered, what in the heck am i doing wrong or forgetting to put in.

Dash, PHONE HISTORY:
I have a 6800 HTC generic (Non-Branded) has stock latest Alltel Rom.
Rep @ Alltel has activated it, note is NOT input as a 6800 smartphone it is as far as their info is concerned a web browser type phone. It has activated unlimited data plan.
Phone EPST Settings:
OK, In ESPT all info appears to be inputted correctly (Rep put this info in) in MIP settings I have changed as in threads states, MIP_MODE to Simple IP Only rather than default Mobile IP Preferred.
Appears all other info in the EPST settings is correct. However IF another item needs changing in EPST I have NOT changed anything else.

Problem:
In the connections (Settings) Manage my existing connections (Alltel Wireless) #777
<Edit Tab> Connection Name (Alltel Wireless) Select modem (Cellular Line) <NEXT> bottom right Number as should be dialed (#777) <NEXT> bottom right
User Name {it should have phone number@alltel.net} however I can put it in, input password {alltel} <FINISH> bottom right

It does not save this info NEVER, however as stated above, each time you wish to get on internet OR retrieve email the pop-up will come up and you WILL have to enter the info.... you can get mail, surf and so forth but when you get out of applications and go back you have to do the same all over again.

WHY does it not save the User Name & Password?

Do I need to create a NEW Connection in order for this info to "Stick" per say?
