Overview:[/u] Vito Technology recently announced that their popular Winterface user interface was about to receive a major upgrade.



We were fortunate to receive a pre-release copy of Winterface 2.0 and were going to share some screenshots with you. But lets first tell you a little about Winterface 2. For various reasons, I was testing this on my 8525/Hermes. Its clear that Winterface is light and efficient because my phone was flying with Winterface 2.0 running. Going from page to page within Winterface requires a swipe and it was amazingly responsive. In fact, Im sure weve all tried to put our finger on the screen and see how far behind our finger the screen moves…well with Winterface 2 theres no lag so even between screens everything moves in real time, which I cant say about TF3D. It really makes the interface feel smooth and enjoyable. As I sit here and flick through 6 screens Im still shocked how fast it goes. You should also know that Winterface 2 can be integrated into your current interface, so it can be a plugin on your standard Today screen or you can just make a shortcut to it to launch it. If you run it as a plugin then just tap it and its full screen with zero delay…not a flicker. Its also very highly customizable and entirely finger friendly so no need to use the stylus at all.

But thats enough talking, lets get to some screenshots already so you can see it in action:

Heres the two line today plugin which is large enough so theres no missing it. Wow, I havent used this phone since 2007;)



One of the improvements to Winterface 2 was the addition of skins. So you can see various skins which change the icon style, layout and size. Ive grown fond of the Google skin personally:)



As you can see, some of the icons have built in notifications, like the Tasks and Calendar icons. Tapping the calendar brings up a custom popup.



You also get to add programs, settings, files, contacts and even direct links to webpages so you can quickly launch any of these with a single press. To move icons you just tap and hold on the screen until the icons shake and then you can delete them,rename them or drag them around to where you want them to go. Obviously, you can make a full page of speed dials, a dedicated app page or mix and match as you feel.



If you add a contact to Winterface you are treated with another custom screen. From here you can quickly dial the contact, email them or send them a text message. Again, it looks great and is very intuitive.



The customization continues with the ability to add your own background and to toggle the program names (removing them gives you room to add an extra line of shortcuts as well).



Another nice screen is the profile page which lets you toggle the ringer with a finger friendly interface. The screen icon changes depending on the profile you choose so you can see the set profile without pressing it.



Several other icons are also active icons like bluetooth status (which toggles bluetooth on/off )and when pressed the icon changes accordingly. The battery, clock and memory icons are also active icons that provide you with real-time information.

If youre using a phone with a slideout keyboard then the icons will rearrange themselves when you slide it out and you get a bit of animation to go along with it. its all very smooth and even on my old Hermes, Winterface will rearrange the icons faster than you can rotate the phone.



Another custom screen is the running screen which is a task manager. From here you can toggle between programs or kill all or some active apps.



So there we have it. Extremely finger friendly, fast and customizable. Again, this was a pre-release so you can expect a more thorough review when a final version is available and well be sure to tell you when the final version is available for download. This should be enough to get your mouth watering for now though:)

And if you already have Winterface then this will be a free upgrade. Thats some serious customer appreciation!

I've got a problem :s

I installed it, and it says my license is activated, but when I try to open a program, a window flips on and says "your lisence is activated"... i don't get the point :P

But the issue is I can't open any program from winterface!

In fact I already tried it, but with the trial version, and it expired, and the same thing happened after expiration for me to register, registration window popped everytime I tried to open something to tell me I needed to register...

:'( can anyone help me?

yup thats what i was thinking..... also make sure that you have a owners name filled in under start/settings/personal/ owners information since i know that with some apps you need one to be able for it to get registered. so make the name and reinstall the app than soft reset and see what happens for you.

no thats a miostake since 7 isnt even released....... did you follow the steps i gasve the last user above to see if it worked....... it sure be pre-regged but if confirmation from a staff member or a couple other members provew that wrong i will hasve to get us a ketgen for this bad boy.

Well, programm opens, I can add Icons and open Running app applet, BUT i can't open shortcuts, a page saying "Your version is activated" flips and if I click on the arrow to go back, when I press another shortcut it does it again and again =/ and when I try to activate, I can't click activate if I don't enter a code, and it doesn't match if I enter a random code =/
and yes I soft reseted and reinstalled it over and over :s

It's weird :s

If your version is activated then why would you try to activate it? And have you tried using the app after the soft reset instead of reinstalling after soft reset?

As it didn't work I thought it was cracked to be able to activate it with random code, anyway..

Can't remember if I tried after rebooting, trying right now;-)

Will hit all thank button once it's fixed :P


I tried but nothing changed :s still bugging... :( damnit... can't anybody find a keygen then?

hi take it easy no need for you to get frustrated if the app is cracked you dont need to activate no need for kegyen also see if i can tested this out

I'm taking it easy as so far i'm done with 1.14 ;-) but still, 1.3 as "Sleep" options and etc which I'm really missing :P anyway, I'll wait for next version to be cracked ;-) mabybe it'll work, thanks anyway

I tried it, but prefer winterface, dunno, I think I'm searching for a simple and full interface... but I wish it was more customisable :s we can't even switch background XD

If that's not working then I can't tell you why. It's already pre regged and cracked. All you have to do is install it and that's it.

It's certainly a bug cause I already had an expired version which told me to register (or something) everytime I tried to open something after it expired

It's certainly a particular situation

hi stil have isseu i think you have install to many times the app this one and previues one and all register keys and files are still on your device clean up your device whit sktools and removed all winterface files and winterface itself its your phone that something wrong whit and not the app its cracked i have try it this morning its preactivated works whitout bugs no need for activation
