OK, so quite often I get asked the question, "How can I make my Blackberry faster?" So I decided to make a thread to help people out.
Common problems: My hour glass repeatedly pops up and continuously displays every time I try to access something Bringing up menu's can take seconds when it should be instantaneous. My pictures take ages to load. Sometimes my apps freeze. Solutions: You'll always want to begin by doing a battery pull. This is the quickest and easiet way to free up mass amounts of memory. If a simple battery pull does not suffice, continue on to the next steps: You will want to go ahead and take a look at your memory next. You can do this by going to Options>Status>File Free You want to see 30,000,000+ bytes. This is the normal memory needed to sufficiently run the blackberry OS. Next you will want to take a look at your pics in the media section. Excess pictures saved onto the device and not a memory card will most definately slow down a phone. If you would really like to free up some space, you can even delete the standard video/pics/music/and ringtones that come on the blackberry using an app called bb filescout. This app can be found here in the Massive Blackberry App Thread You will want to go ahead and take a look at your memory next. You want to see 30,000,000+ bytes. This is the normal memory needed to sufficiently run the blackberry OS. If you have below this amount, begin by removing apps that you do not need or use. Apps can be found by following the below steps: Options>Advanced Options>Applications All 3rd party apps are safe to delete (assuming you do not use them) DO NOT DELETE Core Applications, System Software, Attachment Service, Browser, Phone. These apps are core functions of the BB OS and you will lose valuable software that may destroy your OS. Aside from the above listed apps, almost anything you do not use is deleteable, including the help app, extra themes, etc. If you have any questions about deleting a specific app, just PM me. If none of this succeeds, you may need to try updating your blackberry software to the newest OS. To do this, please refer to Codehttps://www.wckediden.com/how-can-make-t189090.html Last edited by D/\SH; 07-20-2009 at 07:01 PM. |
