Verizon Touch Pro

i just wanted to express my disgust with the verizon touch pro. if anyone ever has to get it..DONT! i flashed too SSS rom thinking id get more memory, on a fresh startup i have 30mb free...WTF! and they layout and operation of it sucks extremely. Monday im going into verizon and raising hell to hopefully get a different phone. dont even care if its not a TP, even though i do like them, its almost not worth it.

has anybody heard about this problem?ive flashed to 2 different roms and done hard resets and it still does it. Its not a super big problem but very annoying. when i et multiple text messages from the same person, and i have the conversation IM option on it gives me all the messages. but when i go to read them it doesnt mark all of them read. like if i have 3 texts from the same person and i click on the conversation, type a reply and then get out of the convo, it still says i have 2 unread texts from them. i have to keep going into the convo and clicking out of it to "read" all the texts. this gets very annoying after a day of texting when i have like 30 from the same person. Because when i go to the convo then, it takes me way earlier in the convo and i have to keep clicking newer texts. its just very annoying. im not happy with this phone at all! ive even tried the stock rom and nothing. if anyone can help thatd be awesome thanks

i have never fdaced that problem sicne the very early roms with the number not changing back like that and thats not a memory problem thats why you hear a lot of the staff and members constantly say the verizon touch pro is crippled...... we say it icause it is.... they gave it way less memory than any other provider to top the list of cippledness.

The VZW TP does have significant less memory than the Sprint TP.........That has been an issue from the begninning........Perhaps the following solution, but since i dont use Sprtin or VZW i dont know if it is particularly feasible...

Get a Sprint TP......unlock and flash to VZW stock or custom rom.........Since the memory is device specific, that might be a viable solution......The TP are coming down in price on Ebay etc due otthe pending TP2 releases (imo)........

yeah but lately verizon has been tying that down and not letting you activate even alltel phones on their service....... many are saying and being told to go away from that route...... verizon just needs to get rid of some inventory so they tell everyone that lltel is out of pros.... yeah right! they still have on shelf and sell a shot loasd of them... i hate when companies lie to the consumers

thanks dash. yeah i noticed the memory loss right when i first got the phone. and i complained to them but they said they dont have any alltel ones, which is crap cause they didnt just destroy hundreds of phones. im going in on monday to express my dis satisfaction with thrie phone so we will see what happens. yeah i could always find a sprint one...but i dont feel like spending 250 for a phone. would rather put it in my mustang haha. i looked through alll the settings and couldnt fix the messeging thing. its really annoying. thanks for the backup haha

they will go for around 175-200 in the end trust me, and naw i sold it but i bumped and bumped and bumped for about a week here and at ppcgeeks with no responses until i finally sold it on ppcgeeks.

i've seen tons of tp at alltel stores in my aread, have you tried just getting one from a store or online since an alltel account is being migrated to verizon anyways?

i went a different route and got a blackberry from verizon. lol. was tired of dealing with problems. got the BB tour for free as a replacement for the touch pro. so i am happy now.

they are out of stock everywehre you will get a tp2 as a replacement right now sooooo hurry and call customer service.
