yup and the amount of the dye that you use as well as the time that you leave it in there will make a difference.... as well as the temperature of the water that you are using.... the warmer the water the faster that the dye starts to stick to the battery cover.

bout to say thats pretty blue to me lmao..... looks like it needs to be buffed... take a old rag or preferabbly a pair of jeans and just sit there and rub the case while watching tv for 10-15 minutes and that will uniform the color and keep it from fading as much over months and months of heavy use.

This must be a stupid question because I didnt see anyone else ask this. But in the how to post, CHIEF says you dont cover the camera lense. Everyone seems to just drop the whole cover in the dye, Does the dye not stick to the plastic area where the camera lense is? I assume it only sticks to the rest of the cover. But just wanted to be extra sure before I dye my lense black and cant use my camera

the dye does not stick to the camera lens, that what i thought but i dyed it awhile back and had no troubles, wiped the lens w/paper towel and allowed to dry and worked like a charm...pictures are good.....

It says I cant add to rep twice in same post. Oh maybe the thumbs up counted. I was looking to click thanks to Dash and TL but i dont see the thanks buttons. I guess they are gone, im still used to the old site.
But more specific. Dash thanks for the Paper clip idea. Heading to Walmart tomorrow. The Blue looks freakin sweet though. If i dye it black, is it possible to dye it blue after you already dyed it a dark color? Im guessing going from Blue to Black wouldnt be a problem though. |

BRO!! What color Dye did you use?? I went to Walmart about 3 weeks ago. I got Black dye and it turned out Perfect!!
I wanted Blue, But I wasnt sure what one. THey had 2 different powder blues. ONe was Navy Blue I believe which basically looks black on the box so i thought this cant be it, and the other was Sky BLue which was very light, So light my GF even said r u sure u want that blue it looks kinda gay lol. They had another Blue that was in liquid that i think was called Blue Jeans Blue. Or something like that. BUt I think most of you are using the $1.66 powder. Not the $3 liquid. So please man if you can remember which Blue you got that would be great because i love the way yours turned out. |

![]() DASH!! I used Navy Blue and I got damn Purple!!!!! The purple pic was what happened when i put the cover in for about 1min. I pulled it out to see how it was coming out and the damn thing was purple. I freaked out and ran it under cold water and rubbed it with a paper towel. Thats why it looks funky in the pic. So I got a question. How much Navy blue poweder do you use to get blue? are you supposed to use just a dash of powder? Anyway, I took the black powder I had and dyed it again. So now I have two black covers. The Cover on my phone in the pic bellow was the purple one. The other black cover was some crapy one the Sprint Store gave me. Which reminds me. I asked sprint if I can buy some battery covers and shes like no we have no way to order them. What the hell? Its a part to a phone. HOw can Sprint not order a part to a phone? They had one cover laying around. But how do I get more? ![]() Oh yeah and some of you asked for more success stories before you did yours. I have not exp any rubbing off of the dye. The phone is even in my sweaty pockets at the gym as a mp3 player. And the dye is still not comming off. if You plan on dying it a lighter color like blue though. Try starting off with just a little bit of powder |
