Run the installer and DO NOT PUT IN A SERIAL!

After Office is installed, DO NOT OPEN ANY OFFICE PROGRAM!!

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Office 12\Office Setup Controller\Proof.en

Inside the folder, edit the xml file in notepad...NOT word
...find where it says

<Feature Id="SetupXmlFiles" Cost="1248">
<OptionRef Id="AlwaysInstalled"/>
</Feature>

and replace "AlwaysInstalled" with "neverinstalled" and save.

Now you can enjoy your fully working Office 2007 - Direct from MS

hey dash, I need some serious help. I Dl this and did exactly wat u said to do, but then yesterday microsoft would not let me format or do anything on it and this is happening to all of the mircosoft pakage that I dl. I am very frustrated because I had used powerpoint 2007 to do a school project and now I can not even formated it or do anything to it.

Please help!! the project has already been done and all I am waiting for is to saved it onto my USB so that I can presented in class today at 3pm.

I really donot want to do this project over.

did you check that line in the xml and make sure you changed it to the right thing again??? other than that without screenies or being there it is hard to tell you what is going on since you were soo vague in your description.

yes. I did. I changed it to neverinstall. I really like this version of MS. So please if you can help in any way. I would really appreciated. I have just removed it and now reinstall MS again. We'll see how it goes.

Question? if there is a serial number why not just use it. I have just reinstall it and it would would not let me get pass the product ID.

I have also been looking at the issue online and try trouble shooting it myself, but just could not figure it out. Here is the site, have a look and see if you know what they are talking about. I tried to follow the steps but I can't really do anything since I can't even touch MS.

hey staci i have the IT version of ms no key required i used this now and for my employers give me time to create a iso so you can burn it to a cd and i'll give you a link for download...I only do this for my vip's :roooox:

if you mean to update to a new version when released no you cant.... i dont think this one has the feature to allow that....

sorry i wasn't more clear...I guess it has the option to update itself much like windows update does for windows...microsoft office will get sofware updates from microsoft. I guess I don't need it to be up to date as long as it works...i was just curious.

yes you will be able to get those you just wouldnt be able to go and update when they release 2010 per say

ok guys i have a version that i sent over to legend the tabletpc king lmao..... it does work and i will up it to rapidshare but please give me through the weekend to do so since i have to study for some tests which comes first in my book..... feel free to bump the thread this weekend and remind me.
