so i have the new rev a. i didnt have to use a unlocker to doit..spl. when i do a custom rom like dashes new one coming out will i have to use the unlocker for that?

yes you do and than if you go back to stock you have to relock.

where can i get an empty ruu folder or can i just use the same program when i downloaded the sprint rev a?

no you have to get the empty ruu by searching it is there for a reason. use the search feature in green under the banner. search RUU*
