As you may know sprint, verizon, and alltel are all cdma based companies which means there phones are interchangeable.Regular cell phones can be used at any store but there is a data problems because of the software in the phone so you may lose features such as text and picture messaging. But as for a PPC all you have to do is flash to the rom of the particular carrier and allow the customizations to take place and your set with all data features of that company working. The last step of taking a sprint phone to alltel store or vica versa is to just take the logo of the carrier off the phone.Without a logo the company looks at the bootup screen to determine where your phone come from.I work for alltel and do it for people all the time.
