(25 October 2008) S2U2 v1.33 - freeware

Although S2U2 is now called v1.33, it doesn't mean it can be run perfectly on your device. Thanks to different devices produced by different vendors. So, please test it before use it everyday, especially the CallerID function.

What is S2U2?
S2U2 (Slide2Unlock2) is a simple lock/unlock application which has the iPhone style slide unlocking. It can be used as a screensaver while you don't use your device. And it's has a CallerID function (but some devices may not work, so please try it first); S2P control plugin; and volume control.




Prerequisition:
- WM5 Phone or WM6/6.1 Professional devices
- free RAM: at least 1M for QVGA; 4M for VGA


Changes of v1.33
- added option to automatically close S2P when the headphone (either Bluetooth or wired) is disconnected.
- added optional nopic.png to differentiate no pic caller & unknown caller (unknown.png).
- fixed the display displacement problem on Smartphone & WVGA devices.
- fixed the problem when the lang.ini was too big, some translation phases would be omitted.
- a few minor bugs fixed.

Changes of v1.30
- added a new display mode - GDI (removed DirectDraw registry key). If your device has problem (e.g. no display) with RawBuffer or DirectDraw, try this. But on some old devices or VGA devices, it may be very slow.
- added optional "Slide to End".
- added weather support to Manila 2D & 3D.
- added option to delay "Blank screen on Talk".
- added option to unlock when external power is connected.
- added option to automatically run S2P when the headphone (either Bluetooth or wired) is connected.
- added option to unlock when the stylus is pulled out.
- added option to lock when the stylus is put back.
- added option to disable the bottom curtain.
- it now locks the Diamond's Home button (but in another way).
- all graphics support high resolution, i.e. truely VGA. (thanks poorlyduck for helping the artworks)
- changed some graphics elements (e.g. a new battery connector).
- fixed the bug that occasional double lock occurred in v1.22.
- moved the S2UText & S2AText settings from registry to lang.ini (as it's more related to language).
- reduced the memory usage.
- a more logical S2U2 Settings.
- some minor bugs fixed.

I have been recently been having problems with my slide to unlock on my mogul......the slider isn't coming up when i re-awake my devise....it just shows the display, time and everything else but the slider. I've uninstalled it and reinstalled it, I've done the soft restart and I even updated with the newest S2U2...but still have the same problems. When i first put it on my phone for the first time it worked perfectlly.........I was wondering if anyone can help??? :triste:

go to the settings and make sure that those are correct.

yes theres settings for all that different stuff..... will be under the prograsms list.

correct.....but when i go to the programs and then go to S2U2 and then to the S2U2 settings the only options that has to deal with the slider is just the slide to answer. I dont see anything that has to deal with slide to unlock....just options like "lock when device wakes up" or when backlight turns off. is there something I'm missing and just not seeing it??

...sorry dont mean to sound stupid if it's really simple.....:triste:

Make sure you go to start.programs.s2u2. ilock. When you run ilock and it says closed then run the s2u2 app then try to see if it comes back in wake up after it locks!

just the screen saver, the time and date show up......but theres no slider to unlock the device......:triste:.......am i doin something wrong?...it worked fine before...but now i cant unlock it...lol

Check your options. "Hide all softkeys" or something to that effect. Turn that off.

hey i guys, i just downloaded this app, i searched and found some answer but it didnt work, i have the same prob with the other dude i forgot his name but on my s2u2 page it only shows the no. of the weather( for exmaple 86/69) but no icons, like the clouds or whatever. the settings is set for htc weather, i even tried renaming the weather folder on the gfx to be htc weather still didnt work, tried donwloading selboriyorker weather and changing the settings to selboriyorker weather but it gives me a "n/a" sign. i tried reinstalling it, still didnt work. tried searching for weather panel for htc home plugin, nothing showed up? im running out of options, can anybody help??:triste:

well the problem with weaterpanel and selboriyorker weater is that you have to give them at least through the night into the morning to become available..... and for the other you might have to do the same also.... not sure since i myself have no t been able to duplicate this problem.

i actually did try it overnight, got tired fixing it i just let it be and when i woke up its still like that. anyways still likin the app though. dont really need the little icons, it just looks good. =) thanks for the info

you tried that with selboriyorker weater??? because you have to wait till the new day start at midnight for it to show correctly on the S2U2 screen.

not really midnight, what i meant was i put the selboriyorker weather around 4 am then when i wake up at noon it was still n/a. so if i tried installing it at let say 11pm by morning it would be ok???

yes by midnight of the day that you installed it, it should be fine.

I installed this newer version of S2U2 on a Sprint Mogul, and i can't seem to get or figure out how to get the Volume Control to work???
Am i doing something wrong?

- fixed the update problem of multiple appointments.
- removed "ReLockWaitMS" which caused some weird problems, i.e. no more relock.
- changed the default value of "NoKeyBoardHook" to 1; it'll set to 1 as well when the "VolumeControl" is 0.
- fixed the S2U2 Settings that could not save/change the "Volume Control" & "Keyboard Hook" settings.

hey all id like to know if there is a way to remove the "2 messages" icon in the mid-bottom right hand corner. ive cleared my messages and came to the conclusion that it does not represent a actual anouncement. am i wrong? is there a way to get rid of it? and is there a way to have the slide to unlock bar itself on my home screen?

no you cant have it on your homescreen and that means you have unread messages make sure they are all marked as read and that will go away.

- added the option to lock the device when the LCD is blanked (e.g. by S2P or other music app).
- fixed the bug that the OffLCD did not work on some devices.
- fixed the bug that occasional power drain might occur on some devices when ActiveSync is running in the background.
- fixed the bug that ShowAppointment could not display any appointment on some devices.
- extended the ShowAppointment to display the next week appointments.
- fixed the bug that the registry values looked messy.
(To make it works, after the installation of this version, please run the S2U2 Settings & save the settings once.)

no there isnt a way to change it that i know of without rewriting a part of the app with a different font..... it might be in the registry too i just havent ever looked to tell the truth.

Volume Control shortcut
If you need to manually map a key to invoke the new Volume Control, extract the S2U2-VC.LNK & transfer it to your device's \Windows\Start Menu\Programs\S2U2 (for Non-English device, it varies), then use any key mapping software (some devices have it come along) to map this S2U2-VC to your preferred key.

You can change the colors of the buttons in a graphics program if you can. The file is named "buttons".
I have gone in and changed mine to all b/w - if there is a certain color you are looking for let me know I will see what I can do.

As of today, A_C is suspending all developing of any S2 products due some sites selling it.
