another newbie US Cellular HTC Touch(Vogue) CDMA

I'm a newbie who is getting an HTC Touch within the next day or two. I'm trying to read up on unlocking and using custom ROMS in advance. I've never done this with a smartphone, however, I am familiar with PSP homebrew, and have unlocked and installed custom firmwares on that. Hopefully I will also then be able to manage this.

I was reading Big Jew's Noob Guide, and trying to read all of the recommended links he suggested. Useful stuff. Glad to have it listed in one place. Read about imcokeman's unlocker already. Reading Dash's guide to flashing ROMS now.

Anyone have any special advice or links for someone with a US Cellular HTC Touch(Vogue)? I am somewhat nervous about using a Sprint ROM or similar and not losing my ability to connect to my US Cellular service, but I'm still reading.

you will be fine many of the custom roms for your phone are multicarrier or will tell you what works with it. on the dade county and kaos roms for example you will be fine to flash and still have all the features that you have now. in the future please post all questions in the help desk area from the side menu and welcome to the site :>

I have successfully unlocked my vogue and flashed first the Alltel ROM and then Dette's 2d diamond ROM. This site and several others were great help.
