Alrightso its probably a newbie question
Alright, so I've spent 3 hours trying/searching.
I finally decided to flash to a non-stock rom (kaos's), and I seem to be running into a problem. The problem isn't with the rom, as I can't even get that far. When trying to unlock the phone using the hard-spl unlocker, I get the rainbow screen...which if I understand correctly is something I'm supposed to get. So at the bottom, it says USB...but tells me to disconnect and reconnect. So when I disconnect, it says serial...and when I reconnect, it says usb again...but then activesync no longer has a connection to my phone...and I run into a brick wall. What am I doing wrong? |

I tried...and it says the rom I am using is _____ (nothing)
I take it that is what it is supposed to say as well? The active sync program (windows) isn't illuminated in green like it normally is when it's connected when this happens. I guess I really just don't want to brick my phone... --------- New Post Merged on 12/11/2008 at 11:23:51 -------- Ok, so I got over my fears and just did it...you can delete this thread. Sorry for worrying, but thank you for calming my fears! Last edited by jGreen; 11-13-2008 at 12:23 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Re: Alrightso its probably a newbie question
I had already seen the update button, but because it was listing my existing rom as blank (and when I had run it, it crashed activesync), I assumed it wasn't properly reading my phone.
On the down side, I installed Kaos's ROM, and now my battery life sucks compared to what it was...I need to figure out what's eating all the juice. |

Re: Alrightso its probably a newbie question
Yeah, I had already done that.
Strange happenings here...I went from 100% battery to 91% battery in about half an hour, and now (5 hours later), it's at 90% battery. Probably (and hopefully) a one time occurrance |

Re: Alrightso its probably a newbie question
battery meter is not accurate since it's in 1% increments. that's normal that it goes from 100 to 90 somethings in first half hour or so. you shouldn't worry about it.
