[HELP] Sprint Touch screen alignment issues

Sorry if this has been answered already. Did search and did not find anything.

On my sprint touch, I can no longer get a screen alignment. Tried a hard reset and that did not do anything. The worst part of the screen seems to be in the middle. When I try to do an alignment, it does not work when pressing the targets. It won't let me align it with the stylus. It never takes it. When I did the hard reset, I had to use my finger to get passed the alignment screen. It started doing this about a couple days ago. Other than getting it replaced, any suggestions. The rest of the phone functions fine.

i would try a reflash and see what that does for you :>

you take your battery out after hard reset for a minute...... othrwise if stock rom doesnt fix it i would say time for a new one if it bugs you :>

Hey sorry to bring up this old topic again but im now having this same issue my screen goess all crazy when im scrolling through something, different things show up here and there on the screen. It all started when i wiped my sprint htc touch pro down with a cloth then wen i turned it on it started acting like that....

I even reflashed back to sprint stock rom and hard reseted numerous times and still nothing please someone help me.. thanks in advance

Sounds to me like ur device may just be defected bro. If the screen alignment doesnt help, and you flashed w hard reset and still no luck then it has to be something underneath the hood bro. Either a ribbon is loose or torn, or one of the snap ribbons came out or unplugged etc, or they could all be in tact and it is just defective. Have you your phone lately or anything that might have cause it? It just doesnt sound like a reg issue or a flash will help, I'm thinking you need a new lcd bro, maybe a new device. Do you have TEP or insurance on it i hope? If so, I would take it to your closest repair or service center and have them look at it. As long as it is not liquid or physical damage they can fix it for no charge IF you have the service plan or TEP.

well see the thing is i never actually had this problem before and the screen works fine its just the icons and stuff when im scrolling though the menus or sometimes on the touchflo it starts to hop or the icons go to one spot it goes crazy and i never had this problem before

Okay, I saw posts about a Touch and a Touch Pro. Both with alignment issues.

For both of them, it sounds like a hardware issue. For the Touch Pro, it is prolly to do with the ribbon between the screen and the keyboard.

I've tried this before, to test to see if it was hardware or software based issue.

VERY GENTLY - after you remove the battery, put the handset on a flat surface face down. VERY GENTLY press down in the battery compartment in all corners and along the edges. DO NOT PUSH ON THE DISPLAY SIDE.

After replacing your battery - GENTLY - lay it down face up and let it power up, first thing you do is try to align the screen.

If there is a difference in how the screen acts - you are pretty much SOL - you need a new device. At the very least, a new digitizer/screen. Hopefully you have insurance.

Some of the larger stores have in house repair places, I got lucky and the one I went to has a very knowledgeable service tech, replaced the screen in like 5 minutes and I was out the door, no charge.

If the handset got wet in ANY way, your insurance prolly won't cover it. I know that if it did get wet, and if you have Sprint and use a microwave before you send it back, they haven't charged me yet.

Question, are you running a rom or is your phone stock? It sounds like you have qvga icons on a vga device or something along those lines. Is it in certain apps or games? What exactly have you done to your phone recently? Have you flashed or DLed anything etc.. thanks just trying to feel this out

DOH - okay, see, this is what happens when you reply to posts without taking the time to read through everything. I'm still at work, my bad.

Oneal is right - there's something that you've got on your phone that is making things tweak. Without more information about what you're using or not using, there's really no way of telling you what the issue is.

Also, as a side note, I'd suggest that you get that mymobiler (here on Wckediden) - it lets you take screenies of what your PPC is doing and be able to post them. Helps a little more when you can give someone a pic of what is going on.

I didn't read too much of this thread but i had the same problem..i took it to sprint even with a different rom and they recallibrated the screen and found the problem and then fixed it for me... ;) try that.. make sure you act hella surprised and that you baught from friend lol.
