ubuntu ultimate edition 21 23 NEW 09/08

hi guys i am posting this ubuntu ultimate for the pc geeks and linux ubuntu fans this roks i have it for a month now its better then vista in away stabel now bugs you play the live dvd on boot so you dont have to install i dit install it on dual boot whit my vista and it works very well gone posted a link for you tube so you can see what its like interface and al







What is Ultimate Edition 2.3? Ultimate Edition 2.3 was built off Ultimate Edition 2.2 (Ubuntu Jaunty Jackalope based) all upgrades pre-installed as of current. This release was built to satisfy the users of KDE. With this distro you get the best of both worlds Gnome & KDE and the following additional environments user selectable at login window / software (specifically):



* KDE Desktop environment (both)
* XFCE Desktop environment (x64)
* XBMC Media center (x64)
* Lanshark – Filesharing application for local area networks (x86)
* Clamtk – GUI based Virus scanner (x86)
* A new theme (both)



When I installed it I thought why not listen to a little music & use compiz as it installs. There is also integrated third party repositories 1 of which purchased by me, containing cutting edge software. If you have a 64 bit processor I highly recommend the 64 bit version it is very snappy and will be my default O/S at least until Ultimate Edition 2.4 Alpha becomes a beta ;) With the x64 version would that not be the best of 3 worlds with XFCE?

Ok weesje man... u thnx to u my pc is dual booted.. u said u have this on ur lappy dual booted? Can i? lol... I have windows 7 on my laptop right now, I have 150 gigs of free space atm can I run this on about 80gigs? my laptop is 232gighd all together and is 2gig of ram... dual core processor amd athlon etc.. thnx!

if not, I may just run this on my desktop. my desktop is dual booted with xp pro and windows 7, but i dnt use xp pro at all anymore so either way. would rather this on my laptop if possible/ thnx..just dont know if dual booting my laptop would be to much for this tablet.. idk..

yeah all you do is just take one of the partitions you are currently using and just partition that into 2 more partitions so you would have a total of 3 partitions, the main difference is you are probably going to want to format the new partition as ext3 because that is what linux (ubuntu) primarily uses as a filesystem. Once you have it formated you can install ubuntu to that partition...im not sure how the boot loader works, im assuming that ubuntu is still on "GRUB" bootloader. If this is true then when your computer boots up it will give you the option of booting to linux, window xp, or windows 7 and you will be able to choose easily from that menu. it's really not that hard to get this up and running.

he bro i see venumx got my back on this one already you can install partition on installing or you can use it as live cd dont have to install if you just whant to see then you got wubi that app lets you install on your windows whitout isseu and you can unistall when you whant get rid of it like software but what i thit is made whit ubuntu partition of 30gigs plenty of space to play whit thats about it need to now some more awesome stuff like in the vid ask ill help you out

yeah ubuntu and gentoo have always been my 2 favorite distros...ubuntu was one of the first linux distros to run beryl or what is more commonly known as compiz-fusion...
