Free NotePad for Windows Mobile
Fortunately, Windows Mobile Pocket Pc devices already come with Office Mobile license built-in so you don't have to purchase it separately.
However, the Microsoft Word application on your Pocket PC is quite big for the powerful functionalities it has o offer and takes some time to load each time it opens. If you don't want all the high class features of word and instead want a lighter notepad application, MobilePad is for you. vn1minh, a xda-dev community member has gifted all Pocket Pc users with his excellent light-weight application MobilePad with a lot of features including word count and sorts, still the application weighs just over 15kb.
