Sound Drugs i-doser idose
Okay, my mother is freaking out. My neighbor lady is just flat tripping on this one. There was a bit on the news tonight about this site and kids getting high from it. I don't see how it is going to be that bad, unless you go to that horror flick theme, hearing a sound and then going nuts.
So, I figured I would reach out to the smartest bunch of folks I know, my SP"Junkies".... (I thought it was cute, but I'm sleep deprived). I know some of you do a lot of music stuff, so maybe someone has heard of it. My only concern is that is it going to hurt the kids that are trying it? Should I be freaking myself? It sounds like the hypno stuff my mom was into a years back. As with anything, moderation is important. We are talking about brainwaves, so maybe you would have to hard reset something if they mix them up too much? The sites I looked at said that the brain would go back to it's original state after you stopped listening to it. I googled it, and came up with youtube stuff and some other forums. The earliest posting on it is over two years old, so I don't see it's newsworthiness now. Just wanting to know if anyone has looked at it, knows anything about it, seen anything other than what is on the news. I was looking for someone with practical experience with it. BTW - why would you put this on the news for the kids to see? Wondering myself if these folks paid someone to put it out there. Thanks again y'all. |

Re: Sound Drugs i-doser idose
i've heard of this but it's a hit and miss thing since it pretty much follows the same principles of hypnotherapy, although effective for some it's not a overall effective "treatment" since it depends mostly on how suceptible the brain is to these frequencies. there is a large number of people that this kind of stuff has no effect whatsoever, also people with some hearing damage have a chance of not feeling the effects because of the limited frquencies they can hear, also high suggestiveness plays a part in this too. i could take it or leave it, IMO nothing beats a nice glass of good bourbon to get me relaxed or some jaeger bombs to get me rowdy, this icrap is for the birds! LOL

Re: Sound Drugs i-doser idose
I've calmed everyone here down, they went to the links that I sent them to. This stuff has been around for a while apparently, first article was from Fall 2007. Talked to someone who works in an ear doctor's office, some kids have destroyed their ability to benefit from this because of the loud music and the pods, supposedly. In any case, they don't have much of a following supposedly. Thanks for the replies!
