Asus 1210
Hi all,
I have been using Windows smartphones for the last 5 yrs and luv em. I now have a Touch Diamond (Great phone!). the problem is I used to have a Asus 1210 wm6.0, after not using it for 6mnths now,I was going to hand it down to my son. This phone does not have a Hard Reset switch, and no one seems to remember the code, I would re-flash but it wont make an ActiveSync if I dont put the code in...is the a way I can force a Hard Reset if no button is available? maybe force a usb link to it?.. Thanks All! |

Re: Asus 1210
Thank you very much for responding so quickly!
But my problem is I cant get into the UI without the code and thus cant activate a reset...Im in a catch 22 position..lol..I was going to see if there is a way of forcing a link to the phone via usb and reseting password via a reghack or re-flashing rom...dont know if this possible, but will give it a go! |

Re: Asus 1210
Press "START"
Scroll to "TOOLS", press in scroll key Scroll to "DEFAULT SETTINGS", press in scroll key Enter the reset password, DEFAULT is "1234" Press "YES" info says that it will reset phone to factory specs, info taken from vodafone's site for the 1210. Hope this helps. |

Re: Asus 1210
Thanks again for the input but the problem is I cant get into the phone (No User Interface,no start button etc) or get Activesync to pair up without the code...that is my dilema..I was thinking if there was a way to get into the phone without an Activesync partnership and then either reflash, hack the registry or even open it up and short the Eeprom (thats getting desperate!). Also this phone does not have a hardresest button. I hate this phone!

Re: Asus 1210
what little I know about flashing roms could fill a teacup... if that. What i have found though is that with an activesync hookup, the handset and the PC talk to each other regardless of if you have the lock code. Did that with hubby's handset and my pc when he first got his mogul and forgot the lock code. In any case, from what I've read on the web, google is awesome (hint) Hookup the usb cable, it may find it, it may not. Since you're going to pass it down to your son, why don't you just let him worry about it? Whatever carrier he is going to use should be able to flash the phone when they go to activate it. I know that with Sprint, when I call them and change the number on a handset, that resets the lock code to the last four of the phone number. Hope you get lucky.

Re: Asus 1210
Solved!...
Finally... After openning her up,seeing PC Board numbers, cross-referencing etc etc..I discovered the same phone is rebadged as a O2 Jupiter...went to a 02 wiki,,and discovered answer...which is (if anyone is realy interested) joystic pushed up while powering on will hard reset back to factory defaults. Now I can sleep! Thank you all for your input. --------- New Post Merged on 29/3/2009 at 11:14:17 -------- BTW..this phone is basically a O2 Graphite (jupiter) without the Wifi.....uhm I wonder if I can use a O2 rom?
