Texting Problem
What up people
I am going to try to explain this the very best I can. When I receive texts the highlighted selector bar that scrolls over the messages in the threaded text has disappeared. Now while texting, I cannot scroll up from the text input box at the bottom to highlight the bold new message updating the message as read. I end up having to close the texting window completely and open it back up for each new message to clear the "New SMS" alert on my homescreen and update the message as read. Its really frustrating to have to go through for every message I receive when all was fine before this began days ago when I could scroll up and down throughout the entire messages with my thumb wheel. This seemed to happen when I installed a tweak called SMS-Extender.cab which I've since uninstalled. Anyone know maybe the registry key I can look at for this and change it back to the default value? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Verizon Wireless XV6800 Custom Rom WM6.1 OS 5.2 21042 GPS Enabled Radio 3.42.50 |

Re: Texting Problem
Yea i think that app messed it up, i will consider doing a invalid registry cleanup that could be done with SKtools found here in Wckediden, that wont work a hard reset will definetly put it back to normal, make sure to backup phone first..good luck

Re: Texting Problem
I really appreciate your response bro. However I've actually already performed that exact operation with the registry with no luck. Seems like it uninstalled the registry keys it may have created but left the original keys it altered unchanged after the uninstallation which is whats causing my problem undoubtedly. If I could find out what those keys were and the default value I believe that would fix it. I've done so many hard resets lately cooking in the kitchen trying to customize a rom that is right for me and if at all possible I'd like to resist it unless absolutely necessary. Anyone else have any other ideas as to a solution?

Re: Texting Problem
yeah dude i would just do a hard reset and get used to it...lol try to make an easy way to get back to how your phone is now, use a contact backup tool like PIM Backup to back up all ur info, make sure your pics are on ur SD card and what i have set up on my memory card is a folder that is called GET IT ALL BACK TO NORMAL and inside is 1.cab 2.cab 3.cab and i placed them all in order of how they need to be installed in order to look right. if you do all of this then you can hard reset from wherever you are and just get your phone back to how you want it in a few minutes without even touching a computer. I even made a mini app that you specify a folder and it reads out the 1 - X amount of cabs and installs them all for you automatically you just have to press ok each time one installs. I'll release on here in a few days.

Re: Texting Problem
Okay I cannot STAND how some people will post a problem and when they find a solution they never repost it to supply the community with it that was so eager to help them, so I won't be so lame. First I want to thank all that responded to my problem with each one's own best advice, I appreciate it. I did recently come to find out that it was relative to a navigation hack I enabled through HTCustom for PocketIE. Once I disabled the hack my text messaging returned to normal. So I saved myself a Hard Reset but then shortly after I chose to reset anyway because I've noticed after some time the XV6800 seems to bog down to the point of being unusable. The only solution I've found to resolve the slowing down issue is a Hard Reset. I do use Resco Backup so its not too much of a pain. Anyway, thanks again to all of you who helped out. Oh and yes I actually did strart with a custom rom (DCD's then to No2Chem's then back to DCD's) but because of my need to customize EVERYTHING to my liking, I went to the kitchen to customize my very own. Take care ppl
