Tweaks for TP2
Good day all!
Here are a couple tweaks i found around XDA and PPC Geeks that may come in handy. These are just a few for now and i take no credit for any off them. Enjoy! Remove Locked Start Menu / Programs tab Items Free up the start menu / Programs Tab icons that are there by default and not removable you need to change (Thanks Mallman) Code: HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/0/IsReadOnly HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/1/IsReadOnly HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/2/IsReadOnly HKLM/Software/HTC/Manila/ProgramLauncher/3/IsReadOnly GPS (Tested & provided by DGH) A. With Advanced config nel menu GPS disable A-GPS disable GPS logging logfile name must be empty old logfile name must be empty maximum size of logfile must be 0 delete the files : \windows\GPSLogFile.txt and \windows\GPSLogFileBack.txt With those changes car usage will be quite perfect B. Then edit registry Under: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\ Drivers\GpsOneDevice\PollInterval -> 100 (default is 1000) Drivers\InputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096) Drivers\OutputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096) Drivers\SleepOnNoData -> 100 (default is 1000) Multiplexer\MaxBufferSize -> 512 (by default not present, you have to create it) With those tweaks pedestrian usage will be much better but not perfect. how to disable the message sent notification everytime i send a text either use Advanced Configuration (easy) or edit the registry Registry: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings Key: SMSNoSentMsg (dWord) Value: 0 = disabled 1 = enabled I personally used Advanced config Tool by Schaps for this tweak which can be found on this wonderful site! --------- New Post Merged on 25/8/2009 at 01:09:33 -------- Here is another one to remove screen auto lock. in registry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd set: DeviceLockWhenSuspend from 1 to 0 Then soft reset. here is another tweak for more camera modes for those of you that use it constantly. Burst Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P6 Sports Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P8 Video Share Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P9 GPS Photo Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Camera\P10 Burst takes 30 pictures in quick succession. Sports takes 5 pictures in REALLY quick succession. Video Share configures automatically for sending via email. GPS Photo GPS tagged photos It seems Mighty Mike and some of his friends at PPC Geeks made a compilation of cabs for most of these tweaks. I have only posted tweaks that worked for me and that i am using. If you want to try any of these cabs you can but i cannot confirm that they work. Have fun with your TouchPro2! Code:

Just got back from camping and i realized i forgot to post a nice find. Its the updated weather database to add cities to TF3D weather. I believe its the Andreas Falke weather database editor. Version 1.1 doesn't work on TP2 but 1.2 does! Here you go! |

[APP] hAndyUtils v1.2 - Apply Tweaks to your TP2 - (New Tweaks Added See Post #2)
There a some issues with WM6.5 ROMS where the REG Keys are slighty different I am working on these issues and they will be fixed in the next version Credit to wensing beast0898 d0ugie LRC combat goofwing jzhyok LRC for posting the original tweaks - and anyone I have missed, apologies I have recently started to use MortScript to apply tweaks to my TP2. I have previously written little apps to disable the power button when the keyboard is open and one to hide folders from HTC Album. In addition I wrote a few more scripts to apply tweaks after I reset my device. I have now bundled them all up into one CAB and I thought I would share the result - hAndyUtils You need to have MortScript installed on your device. Install the hAndyUtils cab and a cab for MortScript can be found in "\Program Files\hAndyUtils\MortScript" Tweaks in Version 1.0 Power Button Options Disable the Short/Long Press of the Power Key when the keyboard is open with options to reset the battery power timeout or wake up the device using any key. Hide Folders in HTC Album Hide or Show Folders in HTC Album - for instance I have a number of folders on my storage card thta contain images from software that appear in HTC Album which I found annoying. This tweak allows you to hide those folders. Communications Bluetooth Notifications Disable/Enable Bluetooth Notifications for Device Disconnect or Volume Warning WiFi Options Enable/Disable Wifi always on. Camera Tweaks Enable/Disable 7MP Panoramic picture tweak Add/Remove Burst, Sports, Video Share and GPS Photo to the Camera Capture Options. Manila Start Menu Enable/Disable the Manila Start Menu (Doesn't work with WM6.5) |

Re: Tweaks for TP2
Here is a speaker phone tweak that is supposed to increase the volume. I have not tried it because i don't use speaker enough to notice. I find my Telus speaker works fine but for those of you that would like it louder try this. I found it over at XDA so if you have any problems i will try my best to help but you may have to refer to the XDA site.
Please, before you replace the windows file with the extracted zip file, make a copy of the original and save it somewhere so if it doesn't work you can always put the original back. enjoy! Code:

[DRIVER] Touch Pro 2 Battery Update 1.20.51986
Hi, this is a battery increment driver update for the Touch Pro 2. Credit to Chainfire for giving me the idea here. Unfortunately his version is older than the DLL included on my US T-Mobile Touch Pro 2. So I made my own. From scratch. It's basically the same thing though. IMPORTANT!! I don't know what the potential issue(s) may come with installing an older/newer version of the battery.dll driver on a given device so I'll say now that this version is the one that comes with a US T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 and is NOT the same as the version released by Chainfire. You have to use a HEX editor to check the DLL version that comes with your device, so its somewhat a pain. Hopefully people that know how can post here elaborating on the specific device they have and what version DLL it comes with. Enjoy! Technical Information In case people want to know more precisely what's happening here I'll briefly mention what is involved in the hack. The actual modification of the stock battery.dll on the device is merely four (4) bytes. This is due to a simple return statement. There exists a subroutine within the driver that is called with a precise percentage of the battery level. The subroutine then uses an algorithm to determine a 10% increment level to return, which is then subsequently reported by the driver. By simply inserting a return statement at the beginning of the subroutine it returns the same 1% increment value that was passed to it to begin with. Voila! So no need to worry about any adverse effects the hack could have. The trick of course is that since it runs as a driver on the machine it needs to be digitally signed (on a stock/secured device, that is). Changing those four bytes invalidates the current digital signature of the file, so it needs to be signed again. Of course, merely signing the DLL file won't work as your signature probably isn't trusted in the device's certificate store. So as part of the CAB installation process, the certificate you signed with must be installed in the "Privileged Execution Trust Authorities" store on your device so that when the file loads the certificate is recognized as a trusted authority for digitally signing code that can run on the device. This is where things get sort of interesting. It is common practice here on XDA Developers for people to use the SDK sample certificates to sign files, and then request that you install trust for those certificates. The obvious security flaw here is that ANYONE can sign files with those certificates (even malicious code), thus invalidating the security mechanism in the first place. This essentially puts you in the same group of people who disable security prompts on their device (manually or by installing a CAB that does so), and ROM developers who disable it or install the SDK certs as trusted. Of course there is no real "problem" per se with disabling (or allowing the circumvention) of the security features of the new version of windows mobile, its just that you are disabling/crippling a potentially useful feature. Hence, I sign my files with my own 2048 bit certificate that is strictly under my control. Thus by installing any Q-Mobile application (and in the future ROM) your security will remain tight with the only applications implicitly trusted are those I signed. Anyway, enough for now, that's probably way more than you ever wanted to know. Cheers! |

Anyone figure out how to remove the sprint music store link from the music tab. When I try to use total commander to edit it, it won't open the file to edit because it says the file is too big? Any ideas would be appreciated.
