32bit to 64bit convertion
I read something about this being discussed before but i just could't find it and since it's a question that many may have I decided to give it it's own thread. Is it possible to convert a 32bit system into 64? if so, how?
i know i have a 32bit processor and talking to HP they told me that i need a 64bit processor in order to be able to upgrade to W7 64bit, however, i read online that by doing a full install of W7 64bit would do the trick. PC geeeks help me on this!! |

Re 32bit to 64bit convertion
hi now it whil not do the trick you only can benefit from 64 bit os if your pc lappy is 64 the best option is to upgrade cpu and you need 4gigs ram to realy benefit from 64bit

yep, but you can install a 64 to a 32 bit, but you'll lose the rest of the rams.. |

Re Re 32bit to 64bit convertion
yeah you wouldnt wanna install a 64 bit OS on a 32 bit system anyways even if it was possible. you wouldnt be able to load up to it ever, the way that 64 bit allocates memory is not possible with a 32 bit machine...it would throw a bunch of exceptions...

haven't notice any errors. The server has 64 bit processor. But because i couldn't find certain Apache program to make it work right for the 64 bit, i had to revert using 32 bit server 2008..so far so good.

Re: 32bit to 64bit convertion
Sorry to revive this thread but I heard from a computer engineer prof. that any intel duo pc can run W7 64bit, even if it was a 32bit pc. Really?
