ARTICLE: T-Mobile planning for 21 Mbps HSPA+ in 2010
While the nation's two largest wireless carriers are arguing over 3G coverage, T-Mobile is busy working on their own 3G buildout. Though they were a bit late to the game (hey, T-Mobile's CTO admitted it), the nation's fourth largest wireless carrier is planning a 7.2 Mbps buildout by the end of 2009. There are a number of devices that can access the 7.2 Mbps speeds, including the HTC G1, myTouch 3G, HTC TouchPro2, HTC Dash 3G, Motorola CLIQ, and Samsung Behold II. According to a T-Mobile spokesperson, the carrier's 3G footprint currently covers 240 cities and 170 million. By the end of 2009, 200 million people are expected to be covered. Additionally, following the successful Philadelphia trial rollout, T-Mobile plans to offer 21 Mbps HSPA+ in many US cities by mid-2010. Fast 3G, new (cheaper) plans, and a good selection of phones - could this be the revitalization that T-Mobile needs? Via: PhoneScoop Read More From Source |
