Galaxy Z Flip 3 users, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is a great upgrade for you
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and the Galaxy Z Fold 6. While the Galaxy Z Fold 6 didn't receive many hardware upgrades, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 brought some welcome improvements.
We wouldn't wholeheartedly advise Galaxy Z Flip 5 users to upgrade to the new Flip, but it is a different story for Galaxy Z Flip 3 users. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 offers improvements in almost every aspect compared to the three-year-old Galaxy Z Flip 3, and here are the reasons why. Do more with the bigger cover screen The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a similarly sized 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with Full HD+ resolution on the inside as the Galaxy Z Flip 3, but it is much brighter. Under bright conditions, it can reach a peak brightness of up to a whopping 2,600 nits. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits. On the outside, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of 748 x 720 pixels and a peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits. That is much bigger than the 1.9-inch cover screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 3. You can get much more done on the new Galaxy Z Flip 6's cover screen. You can check notifications, glance at important information using widgets, and even use some full-fledged apps, so you won't need to open the phone as much. Much faster performance The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 12GB RAM. This chip is much more powerful and efficient than the Snapdragon 888 chip used in the Galaxy Z Flip 3. So, apps open faster, games run better, and multitasking is smoother. Moreover, Samsung has used a vapor chamber cooling system to keep the processor's temperatures in check. This results in much better and more stable performance even under sustained heavy workloads. Better cameras all around Samsung has upgraded the Galaxy Z Flip 6's primary camera sensor. It now uses a bigger (1/1.56-inch) and higher-resolution (50MP) primary camera. This results in higher details, better colors, and a wider dynamic range. Switching between cameras should be faster, and video recording should be smoother. Thanks to the new Image Signal Processor (ISP) inside the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, image and video processing from all the cameras should be better than the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It also has the ability to capture images and videos in Super HDR format and share them over social media networks. All-day battery life and faster charging The Galaxy Z Flip 3 has a 3,300mAh battery and 15W fast charging, while the Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a 4,000mAh battery and 25W fast charging. Samsung has managed to do that while making the phone thinner, which is commendable. Thanks to the bigger battery, which is as big as the one inside the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 can last all day on a single charge. Even if it drains before the end of the day, you can top it up faster than the Galaxy Z Flip 3. With the new Galaxy Z Flip, battery anxiety won't be as much of an issue. Stay updated until 2031 Samsung has extended the seven-year update policy it debuted with the Galaxy S24 to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 launched with Android 11 onboard, and Android 15 will be its last major Android OS update. The Flip 6, meanwhile, runs Android 14 out of the box and will be updated to Android 21 in 2031. That is a massive commitment from Samsung. In addition to basic Android features, the phone will get additional features that Samsung introduces every year with new One UI versions. Increased durability The Galaxy Z Flip 3 was the first water-resistant phone in the lineup thanks to its IPX8 certification. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 gets the IP48 rating, making it more resistant to damage from sharp objects and particles larger than 1mm. Samsung has also used an improved version of Armor Aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen protection to make the Z Flip 6 more durable. The extras and the little things Samsung has also improved other things, including the loudspeaker, which now sounds deeper and louder. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has faster RAM, faster storage, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port. It can also record 4K 60fps videos using the front-facing camera. The phone uses a newer and slimmer hinge that makes the phone more durable and the screen crease less visible. It also folds completely flat without any gap between its two halves. It also has several Galaxy AI features that aren't available on the Galaxy Z Flip 3. With all these improvements, upgrading to the Galaxy Z Flip 6 makes sense if you are still using a Galaxy Z Flip 3, and you can click the link below to buy one!
