Exynos, something elite, or both? What chip will power the Galaxy S25 serie
As we move closer to the official launch of the Galaxy S25 lineup, more details about the upcoming flagship are expected to make their way online. We have also learned a few things over the last few weeks that some Samsung fans may have missed.
What do we know about which chips will power the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra? Are rumors of Samsung going all in with the Snapdragon 8 Elite for all three Galaxy S25 models worldwide still valid? Is an Exynos chip for some markets still expected? What about the possibility of Samsung using a MediaTek Dimensity chip for the S25 and S25+? Galaxy S25 chip options: Samsung probably isn't going to disrupt the status quo Information available as of December 10 indicates that pretty much nothing will change next year. The Galaxy S24 and S24+ are powered by the Exynos 2400 in all markets except the US, Canada, and China, and the Galaxy S25 and S25+ will likely come equipped with the Exynos 2400’s successor, tentatively called the Exynos 2500. It’s unclear if the Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the Galaxy S25 and S25+ in more countries compared to how many got the Galaxy S24 and S24+ with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Unless we see some solid evidence, we’re going to assume Samsung isn’t going to change the formula. That the Galaxy S25 Ultra will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite everywhere is the only thing that's guaranteed. As for whether a MediaTek chip could be making its way into the Galaxy S25 lineup, there’s nothing to suggest that’s happening. Samsung could use a MediaTek chip for the Galaxy S25’s Fan Edition model later in the year, but that’s just an unconfirmed rumor. We’ll let you know if anything changes or new information about the Galaxy S25 lineup comes up, so stay tuned. The post Exynos, something elite, or both?
