[NEWS] iPhone Air may have the same tragic end as the Galaxy S26 Edge

Samsung brought out its slim flagship, the Galaxy S25 Edge, earlier this year. It launched the device months ahead of Apple's rumored iPhone Air, which had been generating a bit of hype among tech enthusiast circles.



While there's nothing really wrong with the Galaxy S25 Edge, it doesn't seem to be selling as well as Samsung may have hoped, leading to reports of its cancellation. It appears that Apple's iPhone Air may be heading to the same tragic end.



Apple's not making very many units anymore



It has been reported multiple times over the past few months that the Galaxy S25 Edge sales aren't that good. Samsung was expected to replace the Galaxy S26+ with the Galaxy S26 Edge next year, but the sluggish sales have reportedly made it reconsider.



The latest reports have claimed that the Galaxy S26 Edge has effectively been canceled for next year largely because the current device hasn't been selling well. The Galaxy S26+ will live on and there's no saying if and when the Edge will make a return.



There have already been reports that iPhone Air sales aren't that spectacular, either. Apple is believed to have cut production volumes of the device as the units aren't moving fast enough. A new report from Nikkei Asia claims that Apple has cut orders for the iPhone Air to “end of production” levels.



This would suggest that the company may not make any additional units as it has more than enough supply on hand to meet the demand, which has been slower than anticipated. Production has been cut to these levels despite the iPhone Air launching in China only last week, a country that's typically a very strong market for Apple.



In the absence of stellar sales performance, Apple may have to make the same decision that Samsung did, which was to get rid of the device altogether.
