What Samsung Care+ covers in the US, and what it doesn’t

Samsung Care+ is a comprehensive protection plan offered for Samsung devices in the United States. It provides you with several benefits, including free repairs, in exchange for a monthly or one-time fee.



It can end up saving you money in the long run, particularly on devices like foldables, as cracked screen repairs for those devices can easily cost several hundred dollars. It's important to understand what Samsung Care+ covers and doesn't cover in the US so that you'll completely aware of the coverage you'll get in exchange for your money.



Samsung Care+ US plans and pricing



The standard Samsung Care+ plan is available for Samsung Galaxy phones, tablets, watches, wireless earbuds, smart rings, and even PCs. Prices start as low as $3 per month or $49 for a 24-month term to $13 and $269, depending on the value of your device. For example, it costs $3/$49 for the Galaxy A56 and $13/$269 for the Galaxy Z Fold 7.



It provides unlimited repairs including batteries, coverage for drops and spills, $0 mechanical breakdown after the first year, next business-day replacements, and 24/7 expert support. If you have the plan, you can get cracked display and back glass repairs for just $29.



The Samsung Care+ Theft and Loss plan, available only for phones, tablets, and watches, provides additional protection for a bit more money. Pricing starts at $8/$119 and goes up to $18/349. Cracked display and back glass repairs are free on this plan, so there's no $29 charge like the standard plan.



If your phone is lost or stolen while you're covered, you can get a replacement of the same model as soon as the next business day. There is a deductible to be paid. It ranges from $99 to $199. A maximum of three stolen or lost claims can be made within any consecutive 12-month period. Samsung Care+ Theft and Loss is not available in New York.



All repair work on both plans is carried out by Samsung certified technicians using the company's geniune parts. Samsung Care+ members also have access to 24/7 expert support online or via phone for device setup, content transfers, and connecting with other devices.



What isn't covered by Samsung Care+ in the US



It's just as important to know what's not covered. Cosmetic damage isn't covered, so you can't claim a replacement or free repair for surface wear, scratches, etc. Intentional damage isn't covered either. Prior repairs from unauthorized sources may also cause problems with Care+ claims.



Data loss isn't covered, so make sure you back up your device if there's important data on there that you can't afford to lose. Accessories, such as charges, cases, etc, don't quality for coverage under Samsung Care+.



How to buy Samsung Care+ in the United States



Samsung Care+ plans are listed on the product page when you buy a device from Samsung.com. Simply choose the plan you want and check out, it's that simple.



You can do it later as well once your device is delivered, but you must buy it within 60 days of device purchase on Samsung.com. If there's a Samsung Experience Store in your city, you can buy coverage from there as well.
