Tutorial: How To Load Ringtones on your Powersource/Hybrid
Tutorial: How To Load Ringtones on your Powersource/Hybrid
First, you will need the newest version of Mobile Phone Tools (MPT). If you don't have it, you can download it here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D2F16KDF Secondly, you will need this convertor located somewhere on your PC to convert the WAV's/MP3's to ".qcp" files. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=59VZ1TM8 After you have MPT installed to your PC, connect your powersource phone via USB so it install's the drivers and hardware. After the drivers are installed, open MPT and it will ask you to choose a Profile. You can select OK, or create a profile for powersource phones, depending how many model phones you plan on using with MPT. I named mine "ic502" because that's all I usually do. Make sure the selected profile is in the drop down box, then select OK. If the phone is connected properly, a screen will pop up asking you to connect via Cable, Blue Tooth, or Infrared. Select Cable then OK. Now it will ask you to disconnect the cable then reconnect it to the PC. When you reconnect, another box will appear saying your phone can't be detected and ask to update the phone list. Select NO, then it will ask you to choose manually, select YES. A Device Configuration Wizard screen will pop up, just select NEXT. Highlight Motorola USB Modem and select NEXT. A Device Detection screen will pop up, just select NEXT. The wizard will detect the powersource phone, then select NEXT. You should be seeing a Model Selection screen. Highlight Motorola CDMA. In the list of phones you will need to select v323 as the phone model and select NEXT. Once the Device Configuration is completed, select FINISH. Now a phone will pop up, giving you a list of options to the right of it. Select Multimedia Studio. Once a bigger screen pops up, select File Transfer Studio at the top, then close the smaller pop up to view the larger one again. Now all you have to do is find the ringtone you want to convert, whether it be an mp3 or wav , and drag and drop the ringtone that you want over the pvconvertor exe. This will make a .qcp file right next to the file you dragged and dropped (*MP3's will not create a backup qcp file, it overwrites the mp3). The .qcp file is what you want to go onto the phone so either highlight the qcp file and select the Copy To Mobile Phone option, the PC -> Phone icon, or just drag and drop it into the phone side and it will then show up on the phone. |
