java app loader ota
I could have sworn we had this here but i cant find it so here it is
This will only work if you are an administrator of your account. You must also have a data access plan on your phone as well as Download Apps. 1. Login to your Nextel Mobile Manager Account at https://mam.cellmania.com/mam/login1.jsp 2. After logging in, click "Application Library" just under where it says "Nextel Mobile Application Manager" 3. On the Application Library page, click "Upload Application" in blue text. 4. Now you have to locate the Jad and Jar file and upload them, after you find em, click next. 5. Fill in the blanks as asked. For "Master Title" I've just been using the name of the app I'm uplaoding. As far as the compatible software version(s) I've just been highlighting the software for my i58sr, you will need to select the appropriate version for your phone. If you don't know your software version, highlight a bunch of em For the required program space I've been entering the size of the jar file since I don't know exactly what to put in this feild. I've been entering the size of the jad file in the the data space feild. (IF ANY ONE KNOWS THE CORRECT SETTING PLEASE LET ME KNOW!) Once all the info is entered click next. 6. On the next page check the box in front of your app and then click assign to phone. 7. Click the check box in front of the phone you want to send it to and click continue. 8. The next page is just a software compatibility check, check the box in front of the phone you want the app sent to and click continue. 9. This is the phone confirmation page, click the check box in front of you phone and click continue. 10. The next page sends a text message to your phone alerting you when the app reaches your phone. You have to fill out both the subject and message boxes if you use this or you can just click skip. Thats it for the web side of the process. Now grab your phone and go to Menu>Java Apps>Download apps and then select run. Once Download apps is running scroll down to New Purchases, select your app and once it loads selcet Get it. Exit out of Download apps and then go to your Java Apps. The new app will be listed and all you have to do is install it just like you would if you would have used Webjal to install it. This might sound like a lot but after you do it once or twice its really a breeze. I have been using this process with my i58sr so I'm not sure if all Nextel phones will have the exact same commands/statements with Download apps or not. Thats it for OTA (over the air) app loading. If this has been posted else where, slap me silly and call me stupid! I searched for this and couldn't find it. |
