I had just read a Post-Reply on ppcgeeks from a guy (aspalaasn) that had the same fix instructions.. It worked for me, so when D/\SH gets a chance he can add this to the Post... Everything works perfectly, now...

Did IGO8 recognize your current timezone correctly? If your talking about your system clock you'll need to fix it after you check off both boxes and exit iGO8. The real test is does your system clock change again when you open and close iGO8. But, once you've changed your system time you should be all good from there.

Edit: Someone over at ppcgeeks posted this sys file which includes the timezeone reset fix. But, mine works both ways.

im ok with the time zone thing. i never need to be anywhere on time. just not to get lost.. :yahoo:

my problem is, i got it to work twice, but now when i start the program it says the GPS is connected, yet nothing. i go into the settings and its connected but cant find any satellites. any one else have this?

I've seen this happen a few times but a soft reset fixed it. Also, make sure your not hotsync'd because it usually wont work that way either.

I'm not looking to get anyone mad here, but "Bondsingh" already posted it earlier (pg. 5), and I commented on it (this page).. That's why I asked if he had read the previous threads.. But the sys.file that njkid is referring to is much more indepth...It's the one that I downloaded off of ppcgeeks, too.. Thanks a lot...

Yes, he posted the text but I thought I would still post the whole file. There are other things in that sys file that are supposed to help out as well.

Edit: In regards to the sys file I not only put it on the SD card I also replaced the one in the program file folder. I'm not sure if it was needed but I did it anyway. With a backup of the original of coarse:)

Yeah, I read in ppcgeek to copy it to the program file folder and replace the "sys.file" in there...

He also said that if you uncomment the "max_memory" and "reserve_memory", then you can limit the amount of memory iGo8 can use...

ive tried that...a few times. but then i did a hard reset, restored. and same thing. then i thought, google maps.....no satellite connected....sprint navigation/telenav didnt come either, just said low connection to satellites..or something like that.

Yeah I had the same issue when I first installed. I suggest you install this PPST cab then go into your windows directory (on your phone:)) and run the PPST file. Your phone will then provision itself and after a soft reboot you'll see a nice amount of sats right away:) (hopefully)

i tested it out on my way to work today, worked perfect. but i tried it again on the way home, and im back to no gps signal. in igo or sprint nav.

i ran ppst again. reset. nothing. maybe its me. im the first to admit....im not too bright. :brows:

not sure whats going on if youre not even getting a gps fix in sprint telenav. you do know that while running igo8 you have to have a buffer/primer running in the background like google maps. did you look at post #16 about downloading the astrolauncher file?? that definitely is a big plus. i use one similar for tomtom and works perfect. i dont think you need the ppst file but try the primer. hopefully this is your problem youre overlooking.

yea. i was a lil dumb and jumped the gun with that post. i forgot when i restored my phone to switch the icon in ultimate launch from igo to igo launcher..

Ok, its not as simple as it sounds. If you have a Sprint Touch, GPS is likely not unlocked yet. I've heard rumor that the new Sprint Touch will be shipped with the new oficial sprint GPS rom, but I don't think that's happened yet. Look in the sticky thread section to and look for the thread about GPS and REV A on sprint touch. I successfully flashed the alltell radio om my sprint touch which unlocks the GPS capabilities. If you're a noob, it may be a bit much for you and you might brick your phone. You should probably wait for the official sprint GPS rev A wm 6.1 release which will be released on HTC's website when Sprint releases it.

If you have another carrier, it may be different than in Sprint's case. For example, if you have a gsm model, the rom flashing won't work for you at all.

Back to topic though, this isn't really the place. Visit the help desk for more info.

Hi does anyone know how to get 3DL files and DEM files to work. Everything works like maps voice and poi's except I cannot see buildings or land terrain in 3D. I have put the 3dl files in the building folder and the dem files in the dem forlder. I am using all the files DASH has posted in the very first post and license is applied correctly satellites lock on fine and time is all correct. I am using a Sprint Mogul on OEM rom and used the sys.txt that was uploaded. Hope someone can answer this or is experiencing the same problem. Thanks gentlemen.

I noticed my suburb city if aurora doesnt have many if any buildings. I had to do a simulated fly by to downtown denver to convirm my buildings and landmarks were functioning properly....

under licenses it shows base, fix data, phonemes, citymaps, elevations, landmarks, maps, and poi

i dont know if i'm missing building but the file is there and also i did several fly bys and no routes from where i live in anaheim calif to los angeles ever showed elevation landmarks or 3d bldgs

ok sorry dash. i should have been more specific. the igo that i had didnt have any maps or terrains so i downloaded the louisiana and mississippi maps. and i was going to download the POIs, and the buildings, and the 3d terrains but none of the links work. so i was asking if anyone could re up the links, or tell me where to download more.
