I applied the patch for the new version but the poi, 3d terrain, and the building don't work. Should I unistall the old version and install the new version or will the new version install over top of the old version.

i think it will install over the old version....... havent tried so dont know since back on sprint nav.

The Links for All of USA at once (The Maps) seem to be down. I downloaded the 3part USA file, but it just unzips the DEM file. Anyway to get all of USA back up?

EDIT: I am downloading a torrent with iGO2006 with updated 2008 maps...can I just use the map those map files for igo8? If no one knows, ill try it out and let ya know how it works out.

I copied the poi to the contents\poi on my storage card and i the points of interests to show up. What do I do?

iGO 2006 works perfectly on my Touch and with AstroGPSLauncher and the shortcut made with Sk Shortcut Manager it works like a dream...and it only takes up like 1GB on my SD Card. If You want I can make a new thread with the link to the torrent for iGO 2006. The maps are 2007 maps though, just so you all know.

I haven't tried XT 2009, but I can vouch for Igo as being really nice. Smooth fluid 3D animation/draws. Small storage card space. Only downside that I can tell vs the older XT is no gas prices.... I use IGO because of storage space alone.

I don't know that for sure. I think these maps are the 2008 release, but I've noticed a few POI that aren't valid so I don't know exactly their protocol. This seems to cater more to European users at the current time rather than U.S. which kinda sucks. I'd imagine an update for US maps/poi/3d terrain/buildings is near, but I don't know the timeline. Maybe someone else does. I might be using old maps too for all I know...

I just wanted to drop a line about this program. I went to Miami for two weeks(from ohio) and I know yes I drove. But, with that being said....this program worked GREAT. Only once did it disconnect and even then it reconnected rather quickly. I was able to find routes on the fly and when we got lost (often) found our way rather quickly. One crazy situation after leaving the boys at Miami ink we got lost off washington ave due to a police chase and quickly found a route out.

I have to give this program a 2 thumbs up rating. Those who were hesitent don't be.

so im dying here!!! i downloaded the software and unrarred and then downloaded my states map and also the basemap! when i go into the igo8 folder there is no cab to install the software! when i go into the 2577 folder there is an autorun? i did that and got the program to install, didnt ask me where i wanted to put it, and messed with it for a minute before it locked up on searching for my comm ports. i then soft reseted only for my activesync to stop working where i then unistalled the program thinking it had bugged it out when in return restarted the comp and where back in action! i have set my 68 up all day the way that i wanted and gps is my last move in this game! all the garmins that i read need a receiver and this one looks dope so help a brother out and tell me what move to make. im dying here!

I have been using IGO8 for a couple of weeks and it is just as good as my Garmin Nuvi 660! In fact, I like the graphics better on the IGO8. After installing, I selected Comp 4 and 4800 baud rate in the set-up. I only loaded the maps for the southeast into the basemap (map folder) and poi (into the poi folder) and it's working great. You need to use (start first) GPS View or GPS Today or something similiar... Goolge Maps, to prime the sats and then start IGO8. I prefer GPS Today which resides on my Today screen for a quick start to running IGO8.

hello! (first post). I've just been trying to download the igo files for US navigation. To the best of my ability to see, the files for US buildings, POI, and 3D Terrain don't work now. In fact, it seems that all rapidhare links give this message:

"This file is suspected to contain illegal content and has been blocked. After the file has been blocked for 7 days it will automatically be deleted, if the block is not removed by RapidShare. For this reason, a download of this file is currently not possible."

Any way to get working links up? If I've missed something obvious, I apologize. Thanks!

So Dash, since my brain is currently fried beyond belief, got a question. Are the 3 files in post #8 the USA maps, or just data of some sort? I know you were working on re-upping some of the stuff, but wasn't sure which links I should be watching (post 1 or 8).

Also, I'm assuming I should be downloading the main files from the newer thread, correct?

i found a site with all the downloads http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/show...highlight=igo8 but i need help puting the stuff together. like the .dem files how do you put all 3 in the same file if there the same name. i change the names to na_usa1,na_usa2, na_usa3 but it doesnt work. and the 3dl files i put in the building folder. doesnt work can anyone tell me what im doing wrong?

read through the thread it tells you right there asnd there is a readme included that gives you step by step.

hey dash, me and my brother are both stumped by a satelite problem... We live in Toronto and juz enabled the gps (Bell). We installed Igo and all the other files that go in it, but once the program is loaded, it always couldnt get it. I used google maps and turned on gps and it works fine on it but why not igo?? please help thx

are your settings through igo set correctly...... some users need to tweak the baud rate and all to match.

Theres so many combinations of the ports and the baud rate.. I did the gps port search on igo and a quite a few came up.. i tried each of them but they dont seem to work.... should i wait like a day or sumthing??

bro im working on uploads im a busy person and since no one else wants to take the iniative to reup again it will come when it comes...... i reupped already 4 times and it goes to rapidshare so i get the points since they are big files and take time to download....

before i waste time downloading this....can anyone confirm that this has a commercial or truck only setting like garmin? i would love the 3d maps but with out commercial routing its useless to em...tom tom and telenav don't have it...garmin so far has been only one that i found that has...

the only place that i have ever found them is through torrents.... if you want to download through torrents just tell me and i will get you some demonoid access.
