6800 question?

I apologize in advance, I know there HAS to be a thread about this somewhere, but I've searched for two days and can't find one that answers my question.

I'm so totally new to this "modding" stuff, and I will be getting my new 6800 this week and need to know, is there some software that is like the base software that I will need to download and install on my device before I start "modding" it with themes and the such????

I want to get the diamond theme, and the slidetounlock that is being made for me.

I've just read so much information and am only comprehending some of it, I'm doing my best...lol.

there is no "base software" perse but if you wanted you could flash a custom ROM to improve the phone's memory management and overall performance but it's not necessarily recommended for noobs as you can ruin your device by flashing a custom ROM...to learn more read this if you dont want to flash a rom then no you can just start installing whatever you want

no problem, basically what you are looking for is going to be throttle launcher .93 for hte diamond skin and of course the newest S2U2 which would be version 1.18

thanks so much guys, I will download those two you told me to do. Will let you know if I have any prob's. AND NO, I don't think I wanna do that "flash ROM" thing, and don't forget I'm a noob and not completely computer illiterate but just don't understand this terminology or what it means................LMAO!

lmao you will ge thte hang of it trust me.... we were all noobs at this at a point you know.... i still remember my noob days about 1.5 yeaars ago.
