Phone wont Sync

I've checked some of the other topics on this issue, but none seem to apply to my specific problem, or the answers dont seem to work. I am running Vista on my computer with the sync center. I have wm61, touchflo 2d, and a few other apps added courtesy of Dash, the problem is that when the phone is put in the cradle, microsoft exchange on the phone tries to sync (wheel spins then stops and turns grey). My computer makes the sound like something has just been plugged into the usb, but in the sync center, it says my phone is not connected. Its not my cords b/c my old phone syncs up on the same cradle

have you tried to soft reset the device?

a few things check to see if its the actual connection, try a different mini usb cord. another thing is pull up your active sync and when it stops running try clicking the sync button on your phone to manually activate it. then the next option would be continually plug and unplug the device until it actually goes through.

Im running XP, but Ive ran into the same problem a few times.

FIRST THING TO CHECK make sure “Enable Advanced Networking” is NOT checked under your USB settings.

Spoke too soon...It actually tried to connect which is more than it was doing. Windows mobil center on computer shower the green wheel spinning. then message on phone Notification error cannot execute\windows\enrollnot.exe and in the sync center on phone (connect error [183]) 0x850200F

I am running Vista on my computer and my old phone syncs up fine with the same cradle

i know vista can be touchy but the thing i dont understand is that i got it to sync without troubles.............. damn ill look into this some more....

I don't know much about Vista, but I just read that ActiveSync was replaced by Windows Mobile Device Center in Vista and ActiveSync won't work.

You mentioned your old phone syncs....what kind of phone is that? what operating system does the old phone have?

Old phone is a 6800 as well it has wm6.0 stock from alltel. the funny thing is this phone used to sync up. yes vista uses windows mobil device center. but i have not had trouble b4.

I had the problem with vista and went to the vista site and downloaded the update for 6.1 and everything worked fine. try it

eh my new laptop is vista and its been syncing up everytime. yeah i didn't even think to mention to make sure active sync connection is set to usb... that facked me once or twice.

also you want to try actually installing active sync on your computer and seeing if thats the problem.

I was able to sync just fine with XP, now I can't get vista to sync. when I connect the phone it adds a MS win remote mobile adaptor, but no phone. I have reset everything..

Did you download mobile device center on your vista?

Yes, mobile center was there. But I downloaded again just in case.
device manager had mobile device on it, no sync, it is no longer on list only ms win remote mobile adaptor.

are you downloading mobile device center 6.1? i have found it to be more stable than the previous version.
