My message resolution randomly got big HELP

ok so i just got my touch pro a few days ago and everything was great... ive been texting a lot and when i have the landscape view opened i can usually see about 2 messages without having to scroll... randomly i open my phone before and now i can see 4-5 messages in that same space... so the resolution must have somehow increased and now each message is very very very very tiny and i have to put the phone up to my face to see it and it kind of hurts my eyes.. ive looked at every menu option and whatnot and i cant fix it

PLEASE HELP, this is really really annoying and its giving me a headache to read messages now

Did you try messing with the touch sensitive wheel. That acts as a zoom in and zoom out on alot of programs

what touch sensitive wheel... you mean the button between the HOME BACK SEND END butttons? with the 4 way directional? that isnt working as a touch sensitive wheel as far as i know on my phone ....? please elaborate

BTW - i have the verizon version of hte phone if that matters

OUCH, the crippled VZW version. HAHA. I dont think that they disabled the touch sensitive wheel on there version though. Just try running your finger around the edge of it while looking at your messages

yea it doesnt do anything... if i have a message highlighted from one person, teh only way it goes to the next person with that wheel thing is if i physically press the down arrow key, the button between the 4 way directional doesnt do anything except act as a select key or soemthing

your using the circle correct?

the only circle on the phone that lights up the perimeter every few seconds with a thin white light? then yes.... the circle is directly in the middle of the 4 way directional

yes thats the one and it should work..... i messed around in store with it and it worked fine.... also look and see if you have a lot of messages up top and if it says click here for older than that could be casuing it.

i tried deleting all messages and starting a new one from scratch, and it is still very very very tiny.... any other solutions?

(btw is that circle button supposed to act the same as the directional physical buttons? except via touching it only?.. and since mine isnt working as a directional does that mean my phone is defective or something?)

I'm pretty sure it's the zooming feature with the touch sensitive circle. I had the same issue until I read the instruction booklet (I know, lame) and realized that it had that feature. So bro, just go clockwise around the middle button while you have a particular person's conversations selected, that's how you zoom in. Go counterclockwise to zoom out.

You can move up and down by pressing just above the button and below, but for side to side you use the screen, and the circle, mainly for zooming. try it on a picture, before declaring your phone defective (besides the fact that it's the crippled Verizon version). Sorry, couldn't resist. And don't press on it, just glide your finger around it.

wow thanks bro... yea it works when i go in a circular motion clockwise or counter clockwise.... but it doesnt seem to be working for anything else.... is there anything else that you can do with it?

and also, you all keep saying the VZW is the crippled version of the phone... besides the annoying placement of keyboard buttons that the sprint one has better... what else does this one not have?

Less ram, Gsensor, better stylus. The phone is just worst. And did it turn out that my original post was correct? The touch sensitive wheel?

less ram i can see as being a problem... the Gsensor works just fine for me, i love hte way the stylus is... i use it all the time.... so what else?

and yes, i suppose ur initial post was correct, i just didnt realize that u had to move ur thumb in a clockwise manner, whereas i was pressing it in a linear manner so thats why it didnt work

Well, for sure it works on messages, including e-mails, photos, and web browsing. It also works on particular games that use the function. And I'm sure there'll be a ton of apps coming out that'll take advantage of the feature. As far as your VZW version, they stripped the phone of valuable memory and RAM. so u think that there will be a ROM upgrade in the near future? and how would this go about tho? everyone would have to bring their phone to the VZW store to get it put in place? ... or will there be some kinda downloadable software upgrade to help the phone out (obviously this wont help ur ROM but still)

and so right now the only function of htat small metal circle around the button is zooming in and out of different things?

You prolly gotta little wait till someone comes out with a VZW TP ROM. Since it has to be exclusive to verizon because they have a different chipset and all. They just like to be complicated sometimes, i swear. LOL.

When we say a better ROM, we mean custom, that you'll prob be able to find here. That's all downloadable. Do some reading in the noob area and become a little more familiar with everything. And that circle function will do different things. Depends on the app. e.g. there's a game called G-Invaders that uses it to fire. But as far as the stock apps in the phone, zooming mainly. Look around at what's available here for the T Pro, there's slowly more and more stuff becoming available.

ok sorry for being a noob, i know computer basics but not that much... what exactly do u mean that someone has to come out with a new VZW TP ROM ... and i assume this would get rid of some of the minor lag the phone has? and that u have to being it to tech support at a VZW to get it installed correct?

anything else i might need to know? lol

Well all the roms out rite now are for sprint and alltell, with one att fuze rom. None of these will work with VZW. So someone has to cook a ROM specifically made to run with the VZW version. Dont worry, it will be big and bold in the title of the ROM if its made for VZW. If not, it will be in the description. All in all, if your read it, you wont mess anything up. But most of the apps here are universal to windows mobile ppcs regardless of carrier. So have some fun.
