Newbie Here

Great site yall. Anywho, just got my HTC Touch Pro for Verizon and wanted to know a few things. I realize there is a search feature, but being a newb i was hoping for some more in depth answers.

1. Battery life.. Is there anything that I can do to lengthen it and where can I find directions to do so?

2. On youtube, BJ's phone was off the hook and I wanted to know how to get it to look and perform like that.

WELCOME!!! and hope you are enjoying the site, you will find all you need or want for you phone here, for sure............

ok:

#1) there has been alot of discussions about the battery life on the TP here; and
#2) you will have to read the NOOB Guide, and the Tutorial on Flashing ROMS before trying to make you phone "look like" BJ's. Alot goes into those ppl's phones and how they do their "tweaks" to get them that way.

Not saying it can't be done, b/c that's what this site is here for by all means, and most likely everything he showed on that vid is here for everyone to enjoy and install on their phones. I would just get more oriented with your phone before you try flashing or anything, b/c if not careful as all the warnings say you CAN brick your phone!

Not sure if you have ever flashed ROM's before or installed cab files or anything like that? So, sorry if you already know all this, I'm just trying to help you out.

1: easiest way to extend the battery life is to get an extended battery, i suggest seidio.

2: as angiekay said, you have to put bj's rom on your phone. read read read, and then read some more before you attempt to flash teh rom on your phone. If you do not feel comfortable doing this, I believe dash offers a service for modding your phone.

no he cant the verizon touch pro is different.... he will need a verizon rom for that puppy..... remember verizon crippled their tp and gave it really shitty features thus th reason they are the only cdma ones to need a different rom than the other touch pros...

Thanks for your help guys. AHA, I was reading a little about that manufacturer, but I feel more comfortable when someone "in the know" confirms.

Also, I downloaded a trial cab file “Swcked mobile shell”. Any thoughts with this one.

We have full versions of everything out there for PPCs, and each program has its own thread with description, reviews, the works. Just take some time exploring the site, get a hang of everything, then MOD away. Dont worry, just take your time and dont rush things, it will come and it'll be worth the wait.
