hey kaos,

saying thanks again for this. i had never had any experience with a gps maps program apart from google maps, thought id give this a go and followed the instructions. unlocked it with the keygen and downloaded the map for my country new zealand. unlocked it with the same keygen. transferred the maps to my phone and wooooo hoooo.

everything going great! i'm happy because i thought installing this would be some major work but really it isnt!!

i went to settings about and it says my device id is Touch. then the keygen says its not valid. only ids that start with a number are working, but unfortunately my touch says it has to start with a letter. a little help please

i'm already on the new version, but mine shows Software Unit ID.

Touch is NOT Your unit id. mine is 10 characters all numbers. hope that helps.

One question, and forgive me if the answer is somewhere in this thread...

It keeps telling me that I need "detailed maps" if I want to have it navigate anywhere. It then directs me to Garmin's site. Did I miss the maps somewhere?

Nevermind... I found the answer elsewhere.

In case anyone else stumbles across this thread & wonders the same thing, you have to find the maps online yourself. Torrents are the way to go, it would seem... if only I could find some that are being hosted. :confused4:

yes dash, you are right. they are posted in the top of every page. sup369 post them up also in one of his comments. they are called garmin mobile xt support files.

okay guys, i have a question, once you unlock this program with the kyegen and save that as sw.unl,droped than in memory card/ garmin, now is it supposed to show the very first screen where it ask to buy, begin trial, enter key, or connect to gps reciever after i do this too? i open google maps and connected to the gps, but when i try to connect with this, it doesnt connect. it tries to but nothing.

I forget exactly what you do... but, you skip that screen. I think you go ahead and hit the "use trial" button or whatever. Then, you get the unit ID number, run it through keygen, re-open Garmin, register using the key & you're stet to go.

At least, I THINK that's how it worked.

register with key? i thought you were suppossed to save that key as a file named sw.unl, and drop it in the storage card/garmin file? plus i cant even get the garmin software to connect to any reciever. i open live search and open the gps there, then i open garmin but still no luck. it just keeps searching and searching and searching..... also, i dont know if this has anything to do with it, but for some reason i have to change my gps reciever to "COM0" in order for ANY of my gps application to work, anyone else have to do that? i have a mogul. thanks.

i would recommend lettings "windows manage the gps"

you are right about the sw.unl file. i suggest double checking if you are allowing windows to manage it.

once u save that sw.unl file under storage card\garmin, it should not ask u for all that..... i would do that unlocking thing again, u know where u first get the device id and save that sw.unl file thing.... hope that helps....
one thing tho, just like sprint nav. isn't it supposed to re-route u if u missed the exit or go somewhere else ??? its not doing that on mine.... everything else is fine tho..... any idea ???

hey bud, go into settings on the new garmin. hit routing & you will find your options for re-routing! find the off-route recalculation setting & toggle to you needs

the default is setup to "AUTOMATIC - ANNOUNCED"

if you want just go to manage attachment under the text box you type a reply in and choose it from there..... or you can give a link and upload the file to a file hosting site like megaupload or rapidshare.

did you hard reset or something? if so just follow the steps again to install and you will be fine...... this time should take less time since you still have the files where they are supposed to go and all that jazz.

if you want your shortcuts back just reinstall the main exe file again. otherwise you are good and should be able to use it fine

This is a non-installation question. I have this going, just installed it over my previous 4.x I had saved onto my SD. Works and looks great, so thanks for that.

For those that have played around with it, or have tested it while driving - does it work flawlessly? I have a few second lag with mine, I'm running it on the Touch Pro with MIGHTY Rom 4.9.5.

Just wanted to know if there was a fix for this, or if it's with my hardware or what is causing this lag. When I was running Garmin on my previous Touch, it worked really well.

Well, I've been running it for a while now on my pro and it works great for me. So I'm not to sure what the problem would be.

Seems I have to replace the old Touch and I'm told Sprint (Asurion) probably won't have anymore and so will be replaced with the Diamond. Does this work on the Diamond? I know the resolution is different on the Diamond so basically is it the same process? (If it seems dumb or old, sorry but been busy with work, and need the GPS badly. Its been a lifesaver at work having to travel alot.)

Oops, seems Dash's tip to read first is one to adhere to. I see people here talking about how they are using it on the touch pro. So I guess the answer is yes. I do have 1 concern though. rev a i just faster internet speeds so that wont effect this at all.

no this is the base program... you need to find the maps for it.all that comes is the base maps.no detailed as far as detailed...i believe all that is posted here is north America....Being i uploaded them all...

sorry i missed this. lag isnt to bad. but you need to apply some setting adjustments to poll intervol and so on.change the rate. But my car/motorcycle as well as truck are flawless.. I turned Agps off.

For what it's worth, I downloaded and installed this on my memory card back when I had my Titan. Since then, I bought a Touch Pro.

Mind you, it was installed ON MY MEMORY CARD, not the internal memory.

I'm running the stock ROM.

This runs flawlessly... absolutely flawlessly. No lag, no tweaking, no nothing. I never installed it on my Touch Pro, I just run it from the memory card. I have no tweaks or programs designed to speed up memory card speeds.


I rank this as 2nd behind Swcked Mobile Shell in best things from Wckediden.

ya mines the actual map source program. And user will unlock them with their device id. So its unlocked for their device.had monday and today ran 8 hr both days no issue...their is one floating around that already is a image..it works but its unlock for someone elses id..so it lags a little tried it...mines unlocked for my device for me...snappy too...

Well, even though I've read through every post in this thread, I can't figure it out.

I've saved the sw.unl file and copied it to the SC/Garmin files and it still gives me the start splash that tells me to try it.

Any ideas?

to start when saving use all file types not .txt... then name it Sw.unl save add it... it may be sabing as sw.unl but as name still txt file.

I must be missing something when it comes to installing the maps. I have followed Jetmouse's instructions from the newest keygen as to how to install the maps.

1. Launch the keygen and enter your 10# GPS Unit ID (GMXT Card ID, Unlock ESN or GMPC Device ID).

2. Select desired Map product and hit the corresponding Generate button to generate Map unlock key.

3. Hit Generate button to generate map unlock key.

4. Copy (CTRL+C) your generated map unlock key to the cliwckedoard.

5. Open the Notepad again and paste (CTRL+V) the key and save the file as GMAPSUPP.UNL

6. Put your newly created file to your SD Card\Garmin directory and restart GMXT.

I'm tring to install city navigator NT 2009. Should I be tring to install a XT map or is this the right one. I'm sure there is a post on here somewhere that can help me but I did search but I can't find it.

do you just need the maps or the maps and serial too?

or if you have a serial already and just need the maps, here is a link to the unlocked maps. although its a linksave shorcut. all the links are rapidshare.


also make sure your running garmin mobile xt, since it's optimized for the ppc's.
