Thats because your phone only checks the tower every 5 seconds. Thats the default from sprint. You need your MSL to manually change it. Go here https://www.wckediden.com/showthread...ight=generator
Hit the thanks and the install button there. Obtain your MSL then change your SCI (slot cycle index) to 1 or 0(I have mine at 0) I believe you have to dial ##778# to get to your phones settings. If this helps, hit the thanks.

Also i believe if you change your SCI your battery life goes down a little bit if i'm not mistaken due to more frequent signal searching.....let me know if i'm wrong...

True, but very very minor, not even noticeable really. This is the first mod I do on any WM phone.

naw it doesnt go down even enough to notice... i have left activated phones (no one had the number too) sit there with the sci to 0 on one and the stock on the other (same phone) and by time the one completely died the other one died within a couple minutes... so not much difference at all and the difference could have been in the battery.

no that will only press the calls through faster. for roaming you will be looking at the PRL (preferred roaming list ) and to get that updated all you have to do is call sprint and tell them that you want it updated and they will do that for you :>

Hey..I looked through all of the posts on this issue...even replied to one, but never got an answer. Maybe because the post was so old, but anyway. I'm havin this issue and I used the app to get your msl, but it didn't work and I kept getting an error message. I can soft reset my touch and calls will come through for about a week, but then its back to delaying everything! Please Help!

Ok, I've searched the internet and this site and couldn't find anything. Yell at me if it's there and I just didn't see it. I got my MSL, but I have Verizon. Does anyone know how I can change the SCI on the touch pro for Verizon? This is extremely aggravating as I constantly miss calls. Thanks for any help and I know this post doesn't really relate to the original, but since everyone else was talking about it.... yea.....

yup dial the number to get to your epst settings and than add that msl as your password and it will be right on the list called sci..... i dont know the numbers to verizons but it should be the same that you dial when you activate a verizon phone.

Er... They don't ask for a password when you call that number. BTW, if anyone's wondering, it's *228. When you call, they ask you to press "1" to program your phone , "2" to update roaming capabilities, or "3" to change your phone. When I called, I tried entering the msl instead of "1" or "2", it said that it was not a valid option. So I pressed "1" to see what would happen. Nothing happened. It played music for a while and said that my phone was programmed successfully.
THEN, I tried ##778 instead of the ##778# that everyone was saying to dial and it took me right to it, where it says "view" "edit" or "cancel." When I hit "edit" it asked for the unlock code and my msl would not work. I finally tried "000000" and it worked!
So I had to hit the right soft key that said "View Info" and i went to "modem settings" and the slot cycle index was under there. It was set to 2 and I changed it to 0. Hopefully this will work and maybe help someone else out, too.

Thank you thank you thank you thank you!! :D
