Anyhow here is the rundown that I said i would give in regards to the Telus radio and Juggs Rom for ~1 wk, Taking phone off charger @6:30am

Appx 1 hr talk time total, Web surf abt 1hr, Email sync for every 30 min...I get enough emails..hahah, 50-70 texts, Palringo for roughly 30-45min. 30min of games. Only programs i have running throughout the day is Touch lock pro. By 6pm i am sitting around 52%.

A couple of notes though.....
1. when i remove the Pro from the charger, battery drops to 95% withing 3 min, but holds.
2. for some reason, when using palringo, even with power save on, i can see the % life drop, more so than with syncing email or with games.
3. I am using the Taylor cab, with the the Poll interval set to 1250....buttah.

*Conclusion* PALRINGO IS A VAMPIRE!
Without use of palringo, I have noticed that by the same time in the evening ~6pm, i have roughly 70%....

i have not added any battery registry tweeks, the only registry tweek im using is the "increase mms size limit" tweek. im a light web surfer, but i do use the phone alot. i probably surf 1 hour a day. from the staff comments, mighty IS pretty good. try it and let me know bro.

yup, since i told someone i would i flashed to the mightyrom yesterday and will give more details about battery life and whatever else i find in a day or so. hopefully the telus radio still is kicking some ass on this rom.

Was gonna do the same thing. I have been hearing so much about this rom but also heard the drama about not giving Jugg propz. Now that it seems that it is water under the bridge, I plan on flashing and giving an update. Hope my previous info helped.

I tried updating to the Sprint Raphael Radio V1.11.00F on my TP and the screen hangs at 0% when it says its uploading the rom.The phone is correctly set up on ActiveSync because the program recognized my old Stock Radio. I ran the RomUpdateUtility.exe file and followed the steps but I havent had any luck completing the process. Is there a step I'm missing or what?

im using the telus 1.04.05 radio. in phone calls 1x is at full bars and dont drop, but when not in a phone call ev sig is low like 1 or 2 bars and some times 3 bars. but i do have to say though when i make a phone call its so clear when the other person is talking. thanks for the update on the telus.

i would go to settings and change to 1x only.....if your calls are on 1x and data only uses 1x..(texting,picture mms, ect) sitting there at low idle in ev is only really wasting battery goin back an forth like that.....only thing thats uses ev is internet and youtube, and other apps that use it but not many.

ok im having great phone calls but kinda laggie web surfing. i understand what ur saying for what they both do and i know that. but is there a way to boost both sigs and not just 1. or is it u get 1 and not the other? because im always on my tp on the enternet like right now and i want speed for doing what i do but also what clear phone calls. is there a radio that does both sigs justice as in 1x and ev?

if by sig you mean signal than no. a radio will do that. try the telus radio, so far the best i believe. it's what i run now.

thats what im using. if u read my pervious post on the page before this 1 u know that. as i stated in that post my sig is great in phone calls but when im on the net on my tp my ev sig is low and my net response is laggy. witch uses ev sig and phone calls use 1x. sorry if im being rude

ok right now that makes sense for what a radio does on your phone so in theory could you actually make a phone that works on sprint work on the verizon network by just changing the radio on it. in theory...

one important aspect of the radio system of the phone is that the phone has to be able to interpret the radio signal......which (more experienced people feel free to fix this) is why ROMS are often cooked for specific carriers....if not for a specific carrier then carrier cabs and prl files have to be installed so that the phone knows what to do with the radio system that it is "listening" to....

For instance, I know that I can use KAOS take 5 ROM (originally written for Sprint if i am not mistaken) and install it on my device, utilize the carrier cab for Cricket ( my service provider) and the appropriate PRL file and use the ROM....will everything necessarily work perfectly right off the bat, no...it wont....then I would have to do some registry tweaks etc to get things like internet and mms to work properly...

But, if the radio version is not talking to my carrier, what good does everything else do? nada...zip...zilch...

Somewhere i saw a list of compatible radios and ROMs.....i didnt subscribe to that thread so i will have to do some digging and maybe i can come up with it again......

i know what u mean. i use only radios i can use on my tp. yes the take 5 is sprint. i have that on my mogul, and thats a great rom. i didn't have to chang the radio though, i wanted to but really didnt need to. but on my tp it'ss different ive used like 4 differet radios now and still thhey all have the same out come. but i do have to say that the telus radio it's so clear during phone calls in 1x but in ev when not in phone calls thats were i have my problems. thats why i asked in my other post is there a radio for both sig's or is it u get 1 and not the other.

Im in the Bx and manhattan all day... so Is broski, and I believe hell confirm... stick to the sprin radios for NYC... 1.0.3 or 1.11... doesnt seem to make too much of a difference... actually personally 1.0.3 seem to run just a bit cooler w/ slight more signal stregnth... but 1.11 is pretty much just as sharp... im on 1.11 cuz Ive been too lazy to flash back... but I think broski prefers 1.11... either way, Id suggest sticking to sprint radios in general!

It seems to lock me in on 1x rather than evdo(when using data) more than often(at my house). with the sprint or telus radio I would never have that problem. I also feel like it gets my touch pro hotter than the others. still haven't really tested the gps.


will be testing more thoroughly, but I have a feeling I will be going back to the sprint 1.11 or telus.

The general idea is that the sprint and telus are the 2 best radios. Cant go wrong with either one, but try both out to see which suits you best.

testing the newest release of the sprint radio for not quite a day and so far so good.... (on mr5 rom) i was on the uscellular radio and that was just utter garbage and the battery life was horrible.... ill let you kno what i think of the sprint after a little more testing. i was on the telus radio since date of release and will prolly go back to it unless the new sprint one blows me out of the water.... so for me as of now:

2. telus radio is great and gave me great battery life and signal

Telus seems to do well, but I don't know if the new ROM without TouchFlo is responsible for the battery. Radio seems that it may be getting hung up, things seem to come through a little sporatic. Going to the Spring 1.11 we'll see how that goes.

After further testing with the 1.11 vs the telus 1.04.05 i've seen that for me in the nashville area that the 1.11 switches from 1x to ev far to often and the telus stays on ev almost always until you make a phone call.

With that being said. If you don't think it makes a different then you're wrong. Switching from 1x to ev will actually piss you off if you are using internet on the phone cause you will be crawling very slowly instead of it being worth using. Might not hurt on the phone call side of things though. The 1.11 did "seem" to give me gps locks better, but that will just have to be the only downside of me using the telus one vs sprint. I like my gps, but i like having a usable phone better.

The 1x and ev switching also takes a tole on the battery life because of it always refreshing your internet connection when you have programs set to auto download and having it on ev makes things go so much more smoothly.

Now if I could just get the best of both worth and have functionaliy AND usability then I'd be set for good.

yup i noticed the same in the grand rapids, mi 49505 area..... telus is the best fit for me and always in evdo no matter what..... the speeds are great on the internet and with all data transfers and the gps for me locks on tremendously fast........ the second best radio is the newest sprint and the worst for me would have to be the uscellular.

thats because these radios are for the diamond and the touch pro and won't work on your touch...If you have the touch pro make sure it is unlocked and you update your profile

well than go ahead and download and than flash as you would a rom and you will have no troubles.... and btw you may want to update your profile. and for the error your not trying to flash this raio over to a gsm deivice are you? liek the fuze for instance?

That's the thing Dash, it won't let me, it gives me the error i mentioned before, and updating the profile in my phone is another issue, it gives me error code :407, i just got off the phone with sprint to try to update the profile, first thing the asked "why do you want to do that?" to which I didn't know what to say bc i don't what that's for lol, anyway i said "Im just trying to see what it does", the guy said he was sending me an update and that i had to dialed *2 which im in the process of right now, it's still programming.

huh they prolly just updated your prl would be my guess... and if that doesnt work i will dig up a cab from my laptop when the boss leaves in a bout 45 minutes and that shoudl allow you to be able to have those work.... also did you make sure that you downloaded the sprint version of the rom?

just an fyi the only time I ever got the update profile to work was right after I activated my phone and it needed to update to get my data working so I think it is only for if you need it updated to get data to work (don't quote me cause I really have no idea what it does, this is just my conjecture) also, the prl updated helps you find a different tower to get a better signal and I believe that if it doesn't update then there are no better towers in range.

Ok thanks for the info, I still can't update the radio, or flash back to stock(to see if then I can update the radio), not sure what's the problem, when i flashed to "SsS-ROMv0117" everything was a breeze.

hmm...I've never heard of a problem updating a radio except for when trying to update from the sd card. are you trying to update from your computer?

yes from my pc, the update starts, goes up to 5% and then stops and says that my Device ID is invalid

the herman is not the touch pro thats the raphael... the herman is the diamond thus why you are having troubles..... i have said this many times to people... WATCH WHAT YOU FLASH OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE!!!!!!
